This is a clever bit of kit! The installation process went smoothly, as the Tado installation website guides you through the entire process step-by-step. It is great to be able to control the heating from our phones now anywhere we are. I was already aware of the optional monthly/annual subscription for automation of geofencing etc. so this didn’t come as a surprise. The thermostat detected that our side door was open and turned the heating off for 15 mins to save energy, clever! The thermostat itself is perhaps a little basic looking and basic in operation compared to the other main players in this technology, but the whole system offers fantastic functionality and a wide range of settings from the phone app. Still getting used to it but I would recommend.

Wanted this as opposed to hive or nest as it was homekit compatible. A bit more expensive but worth it. Went down the self install route and although they didn’t initially support my boiler and programmer they sent instruction for my particular set up in 2-3 days complete with drawings! Highly recommended if you have a apple homekit set up and what to use one app for all compatible smart devices.

Very easy to install and setup to an existing hard wired thermostat heating system. Instructions and packaging was very good. Nice looking product, well made!

The tado Smart Thermostat (combined with the wireless receiver) has changed the way I control my heating at home. I am no longer worrying about the cost of heating my home, as when nobody is home the heating automatically turns off, and then gradually warms my home depending on the physical proximity of people who've been added to the home!

Great product but subscription service required for auto geofencing which is not advertised anywhere here or on the manufacturer website! Would recommend viewing of the trust pilot reviews to understand the subscription better!

I had done a lot of research into the different smart thermostats before purchasing the tado. The 2 biggest factors in my selection process was wanting geo-fencing functionality, so my home isn't heated when I'm not there, and ease of install, I was replacing an existing battery-powered wired thermostat. - I think I made the right choice.

We replaced Wave thermostat with this Tado version, and are pleased with result Installation not that straight forward - existing thermostat wiring was not labelled, so instructions provided were not sufficient. Response from help desk non existent, so had to work it out for myself. (I have help desk support very poor on a couple of occasions - operators that struggle with the language & not very knowledgeable about their product) Location based control does not work with my mobile - takes about 30 minutes after arriving home to register my presence - maybe my phone, will have to try a new one!
