    Only works through games console

Cool piece of kit, shame its so darn expensive! But it is pretty fun to sync your tv/game with the lights. Annoyingly my lights dont work if you try to use the sync option just using the apps on my smart tv, you have to plug this into your games console and then access netflix/whatever streming service through that. Not a huge issue, just prefer to use the tv directly.

An excellent add-on to a Philips hue life

This is an excellent hdmi switch. Syncs 10 lights at a time, setup well with the app. Smart home capabilities include allowing dining and brightening intensity on the fly. We live in a smart home powered by solar panels., 6 echo show 8s and 50 Philips hue bulbs, switches, motion sensors and outdoor lights and cameras. Product came next day delivery, not very well packaged and the box got some scuff marks. 100 day returns is really good by AO though for this item if you get one you're very very lucky and probably won't be returning it. We use 3 of the 4 hdmi inputs, a firestick, computer, virgin TV and a spare. Lights sync with any hue bulb. You do require the hue main box connected and can only use 50 bulbs per hue box. Our setup includes a harmony elite remote which helpfully makes the whole process of turning on the TV one touch. I've connected the hdmi sync box to the Bose sound touch 300, which by ARC sends the video on to the projector. Simple setup which also works for the Mac mini. All inputs go to the Philips hue sync box, then a single cable runs to the Bose, from there another cable runs to the projector. Variations are possible but I cannot vouch they will work.
