This was bought specifically for the double oven and drop down doors. It was annoying to find that the doors do not open to 90 degrees meaning that a plate or dish cannot be put on either. The top oven is disappointing, it doesn’t cook very well and small items have had to be transferred to the main oven defeating the object of a smaller oven. I find that the electric grill works well and heats up quickly. However, to use the grill pan which has to be lifted off the racks without a handle is extremely dangerous and made more awkward by the door not opening fully. Iit is quite a tight fit and particularly when hot food needs turning. I believe I can buy a handle ( no mention of this in the rather useless instruction leaflet). I have reverted to using my old grill pan which fortunately is in good condition. I would have expected such an oversight from a cheap model not from a company like Stoves.

Oven does not have the same features as the Stoves gas double oven it replaced, e.g. there is no indication that the oven has reached the temperature you have set. We therefore have to follow a chart provided by someone on the internet that shows how long it takes in minutes to reach the relevant gas mark. Also, we are now contacting the warranty provider as we have discovered (by using a thermometer) that the oven is operating below temperature. So if you require, say, gas mark 5 you need to set the control knob to mark 7. This is clearly a fault, and not just a variation of a few degrees centigrade which you might reasonably accept.

Has a clean and classy look to it. Thanks to measuring before ordering fitted perfectly. As fairly new, still getting used to the feel of the oven, ( bakers will know what I mean ). It is more flexible than my last oven as I now have a small and large oven, to play with. It does mean that I am having to learning for the first time how to grill with electric ! Very different from Gas, a small wait for heat, and I quickly realise moving the grill position itself works better than trying to reduce the level of heat from the elements. It's settings are clear and straight forward, in the older style of numbering, rather than temperature , just a small thing to look out for.

I thought I wouldn't like the electric grill but I'm quite surprised by it. The downside is the grill pan and lack of handle. The pan does not slide easily and have reverted to the old grill pan as I kept hold of it. The clock is way too bright. No problems with the ovens, they do exactly what they should.

product good so far ... why do manufacturers stick on a warranty label that is very hard to remove !!! and not give advice on how to remove it without damaging the unit.

Overall the double oven is fit for purpose although there are a few disappointing features. Although there is a light in both ovens which come on when the oven is in use the light does not come on when you use the grill. This seems ridiculous as it important to see how food is cooking under the grill. Neither oven doors open a full 90 degrees so it is not possible to rest trays on the open door. There is no illumination of the dials or indication when the set temperature has been reached, not essential but would be nice. I bought this oven to replace a 25 year old Stoves model of similar design. It is very noticeable that the new oven is of a much lower build quality using thinner and lighter materials. Despite the issues overall I am happy with the performance of both the ovens and the grill.
