    Problem with the oven

    1/5
The purchase and installation were great but there’s a problem with the metal fascia of the oven overheating. Hopefully this gets resolved but at the moment, I can’t give this product a good review.

    Not satisfied sfied

When oven is on for half hour the led where the time is starts to flash 0.00 and the top oven is really hot although not on. Phoned hotpoint and they said when the oven is on the grill element heats up too. Surely this is wrong. First time I’ve had a hotpoint and wouldn’t recommend it just had it installed and not happy at all.

    Oven fan problems

    2/5
Not very happy with DD2540WH oven. We purchased this oven and it worked for a year then the main oven fan broke. I thought that this was so unreliable that I would purchase a second new oven. However a lot of the Hotpoint / Indesit seem to share the same spares so I was not surprised when I had to replace 4 oven heating elements in 3 years. Hotpoint / Indesit / Whirlpool should be required to publish mean time between failure figures for there appliances!

    Very disappointed

    2/5
Looks great, condensation runs out the bottom of both ovens. No fan in the top oven, don't see why they haven't made the top oven to the specification of the bottom oven, the point of a smaller oven is for less items to cook without the need to use the larger oven saving electricity surely. Not able to remove inner glass on door to clean without taking whole door apart. Dust gets in between the inner door and outer door so not able to get in there to remove it. Very disappointed with this oven. I have always had Hotpoint kitchen stuff and am really unhappy with this buy. Wish I had gone for another make.

    Failed completely after 15 months

    2/5
Bought this double oven in June 2020 and it finally failed completely in October 2021. When it first arrived, there was a 'bend' in one corner. I queried this with AO installers and Hotpoint and both said this was normal. Not seen this on an oven before but decided not to pursue as it worked fine. Within a month of arriving, we noticed 'bubbling' in the oven. Queried this with Hotpoint and were told this is 'normal' from useage. Not had this happen before with an oven but trusted the Hotpoint make. Within 6 months - after the returns period with AO - the timer sound started only working intermittently (which we found out when we realised our dinner was taking a long time!). Couldn't trust it after that. Sometimes it went off, sometimes it didn't, sometimes loud, sometimes quiet. Had to use another timer therefore. The main oven (we are a family of 4) is used daily for cooking and began to not heat up very well over the past couple of months (just out of warranty!). I noticed I was having to leave food in longer and longer to get it to cook properly, despite the oven light being out saying it was at temperature. I seemed to have to cook everything now at 200C. Then today, 15 months after we purchased it, the main oven stopped heating. Having phoned Hotpoint, it is a 1 year warranty on the whole oven, but 10 years parts warranty. Joy soon turned to disappointment. You either have to take out one of their 'plans' under their 'repair and care' team (almost half the price of the oven, and they'll have someone out within 5-7 working days) or pay a substantial call-out charge to Hotpoint plus their hourly labour fee for the 'free parts warranty'. We decided to buy a different brand of double oven and cut our losses.

    Second faulty oven

    2/5
This is the second faulty oven of this model I have had since November 2019. The first ovens internal cavity came apart which meant a replacement had to be provided. The second oven, the seal on the bottom oven isn't keeping the condensation in causing water to leak down into the cupboard below. Seriously questioning the build quality because of having to schedule 2 repairs in less than a year on 2 separate ovens! This is no fault of A.O at all. This is a manufacturer issue.
