We previously owned a George Vacuum Cleaner and the build quality was bombproof, serving us faithfully for 10 years, with no problems. Unfortunately, the new version is nowhere near the same quality. Every single component is of a cheaper manufacturing quality, three weeks in, and we are already having problems. It is also worth bearing in mind that the previous model had a 1200w motor the new model is 1060w. If its your first George you may be impressed whilst its still new, if you've owned one previously you will be dissappointed. Since I got my dog I've been struggling to keep my carpets looking good. Now I have no problems as Henry does a brilliant job. Henry is a little heavy but that is forgiven as his performance is excellent.

More powerful than my Henry, but much louder. Would prefer it if the cable retracted inside the unit, like with the Henry, as it gets tangled easily. Better build quality than my Dyson V8, which broke just after the warranty expired!

So far I am very impressed, I have cleaned all of the hard floors using the scrubbing attachment, I cleaned the carpet on the stairs and cleaned all the seats in the car after the dogs decided to get muddy paws everywhere. Very easy to use and setup and having had other makes in the past I would highly recommend the George.

I've had Vax cylinder wet/dry cleaners for 20+ years, but the latest one died when there were no Vax machines in stock, so George arrived. I've not used the wet mode, but it looks comparable to the Vax system with things that seem to be an improvement like the heavy duty hose and things that seem less good like the attachment choice. The dry part is similarly good or better and not so good as the Vax. It's less manoeuvrable but lighter, its hose is awkward if you're under 5 feet tall, but the attachments come round with you (on George's backside) so you're more likely to use them than have them sitting in a cupboard. Suction is good with a new bag: time and muck will tell how good it is with a half full bag. So far so good, but the attachment for the wet hose trigger is just where you put your hand in normal dry use and is very annoying and stopped 5 stars

Does exactly what it says it will do. Far better than Henry as it sucks and blows.

This product really sucks... i mean it sucks water so good.. had used vax machines before but this is in a different league. Got stains out of carpet really well. I have cream carpets 3 kids and a puppy... wont need to get the carpets professionally cleaned twice a year any more.

Absolutely amazing Hoover, I've used cleaners before and had a George before and I can see a huge improvement has been made, even though the original was brilliant. No hassle Hoover and you know you've made the right choice . Top stars hugely recommended
