Not what I expected from a Smeg product.

This a cheap and nasty plastic kettle, the only metal part is the boiling vessel. Being so cheaply made, I am of the opinion that it will not stand much use before some of the pointlessly intricate plastic parts will fail. This is the worst case of paying for the name I have ever been mugged into paying for. It is being returned as an unsatisfactory and below standard product.

    Absolutely beautiful kettle!

    5/5
This kettle is worth the investment. It's sleek and minimal and 100% worth the money. The sing-song noise it makes when the kettle boils is so much better than the usual beeping that normal kettles makes. I say normal, because this one is on another level. Simply gorgeous.

    Disappointing for SMEG

Not as great as I expected from SMEG. Actually seemed a little cheap and tinny, lid doesn’t always open first time and I thought it would be quieter when boiling.

Just out of warranty and its started leaking

    1/5
We bought this kettle in December 2021. It looks great and works as a kettle should. Unfortunately 2 months out of its warranty it is leaking from somewhere around the base. Not worth spending so much money on a disposable item.

No problems with the kettle yet still overpriced for what it is.

Amazing design, retro looking and great build quality!

    5/5
Brought our kitchen to life with its glossy white colour and shining features, would fit perfectly into any kitchen, it has a 1970s American café sort of vibe! The filter built into the kettle stops any large/small bits of lime-scale making they’re way into your drinks & it’s relatively quiet to boil compared to other kettles. Overall, we love our new kettle!

Looks great but would have expected better from Smeg

    3/5
Bought this kettle to match my smeg toaster and yes it looks the part but it has a few downsides. Its a very heavy kettle even without the water in it so even worse when its full. The lid is a push button that is very temperamental and takes a bit of getting used to. The water level indicator is always steamed up so its hard to tell how much water is in it. If it wasn't for the fact I wanted it to match my toaster its very over priced when you can get something at almost a 10th of the price that does exactly the same and is much lighter and has a better lid. If you're not buying this just for the name then I suggest you go for another kettle and save a lot of money!
