Looks great but would have expected better from Smeg

    3/5
Bought this kettle to match my smeg toaster and yes it looks the part but it has a few downsides. Its a very heavy kettle even without the water in it so even worse when its full. The lid is a push button that is very temperamental and takes a bit of getting used to. The water level indicator is always steamed up so its hard to tell how much water is in it. If it wasn't for the fact I wanted it to match my toaster its very over priced when you can get something at almost a 10th of the price that does exactly the same and is much lighter and has a better lid. If you're not buying this just for the name then I suggest you go for another kettle and save a lot of money!

    No excuses from wifey ??

    5/5
Rather reluctantly ordered this Smeg kettle after some serious persuasion from wifey as we had just finished our new white kitchen. “The only kettle I want” was the repetitive line. Arrived as promised amid the Covid-19 lockdown. Very smart looking, really quiet and that touch of quality with slow function fill lid. Really impressed. Wifey has no excuses now when I ask for a cuppa

    100% worth the money!

    5/5
I swithered over buying myself a Smeg kettle for such a long time, the reason being the price but in the end I succumbed to ordering this beauty and I'm so happy I did. The Smeg kettle is worth every penny, with it's unmistakable iconic retro design and eye-catching logo, it has completely lifted my kitchen from the budget white gloss j-pull kitchen of the moment, transforming it into a really stylish looking high-end gleaming kitchen of another calibre. All because of the kettle (okay, I did go ahead and order the toaster too!!). You can feel the quality in the weight of the kettle as soon as you lift it out of the box, then you discover the features that set it apart from most other kettles, such as the sophisticated push-top lid - with a touch of the button on the lid, it opens automatically in a sleek and controlled way - I was so impressed and had the biggest smile! Then when you go to use it, you realise it can hold 1.7 litres of water! The flick-on switch is also designed to be set apart from any other, not merely a button, but a little rod with a ball on the end that just gives it that 50's American styling; the action of switching it down to start the kettle is pleasurable in itself! Then comes the lovely quiet hum (or should I say purr?) of the kettle as it begins to heat the water...it just all round oozes quality. I also love that there is a light that comes on around the on-flick-switch when you've switched it on then it blinks as the kettle is about to reach boiling point. I just love this kettle and I can't stop admiring it every time I walk into my kitchen now. Anybody thinking about buying this, I'd say just go for it because it's so so worth it!

Just out of warranty and its started leaking

    1/5
We bought this kettle in December 2021. It looks great and works as a kettle should. Unfortunately 2 months out of its warranty it is leaking from somewhere around the base. Not worth spending so much money on a disposable item.

    Lovely kettle

    5/5
Have been looking for a decent kettle for a while now and was moving home and decided to go all out and get a Smeg as I know they are of good quality and reliable products, yes a bit more pricey than other brands but for what you get it is definitely worth it. I got the slate grey which is a lovely dark grey colour which fits in with my kitchen decor. The smoothness of the opening of the lid, the power button is easy to press down and is quite a quiet boiling kettle and fast too. Not that heavy to fill/lift and pouring action is really good. I would recommend this kettle.

    A little Tweek required

    4/5
Pros: A very sleek design from SMEG giving it the old retro look. I bought the SMEG Chrome and white version that really stands out in my current kitchen. Functions include the soft touch lid opener that lifts the lid smoothly and the adjustable chord winder on the base allowing you to use only the chord required keeping the worktops tidy. The kettle itself comes to a boil fairly quick under a mini for 4 cups of water. It's not as noisy as some of the other kettles I've had so thats another plus. It's well insulated and keeps the water hot for a fair while. CONS: The water gauge is hidden by the sleek handle which means you have to tilt you head. The kettle it'self is a little on the heavy side . Maybe some finger grips on the inside of the handle could improve the egornomics of the product. Otherwise a very well-made ,value for money product ??
