Whoever Ken Wood is he's made a great job of his mixer. I've seen his machine at grandparents, aunties and uncles houses all through my life and have never used it. Yet everyone I know always told me you can't beat Ken Wood. Well now I can because I've got his mixer! Brilliant for baking, 'Bake Off' eat your heart out. Super-light egg whites, fantastic bread dough, sponge to die for. I'm keeping this and your not having it back. Sorry Ken.

Birthday present from my boys. First time food mixer for me and I found it so easy, no worries no fuss, used it nearly every day since it arrived

The Kenwood kMix does everything you want it to and more when it comes to baking – the incredible 1000W output means it’s one powerful beast that whips your ingredients into shape in no time at all – with the beater perfect for creating light and fluffy cakes, the whisk allowing you to create delicate buttercream and more for your creations. I haven’t yet made bread but the dough hook looks like a handy tool to save all that effort with kneading too. The kMix also has multi-speed functionality, which is really handy to have total control over your recipe and also to avoid covering the kitchen in cake batter (luckily a tip I was told BEFORE using my mixer was to start off slow!). The kMix does come with a splash-guard though too, so don’t worry too much about any mess. One of the best features of the kMix is the large, glass mixing bowl – fully transparent, so there is no need to peek over the top at your mixture, you’ll have a full view during the whole process of creating your cake. The kMix just feels powerful, luxurious and a breeze to use. The attention to detail is just second to none, plus it’s good to know it’s a trusted British brand we all know and love too. Highly recommended!

It’s a very good mixer but I think the creamer beater should be included as standard. Creaming with the k beater involves a lot of stopping to scrape the bowl as everything clings to the bowl sides. Kneading dough is a doddle though and my bread has ever been so soft and light.

The mixer makes brilliant cakes and easy to use. It’s very quiet and I love the colour and how it looks in the kitchen. The only issue is the bowl gets locked in place and then is difficult to take off. It’s like the locking grey part of the bowl moves and doesn’t line up with the stand. Now I know what to do it’s fine but at the start it was very difficult as the bowl is very heavy and doesn’t line up with the markings of lock and unlock.

Great bit of kit for the price. Mainly gets used for pizza dough.
