This model is classic style, in my opinion better than any other. Does everything I want, as time goes on I'm going to buy other attachment's. I would highly recommend.

I’ve been thinking of purchasing a mixer for a while andI decided on purchasing the Kenwood chef XL after looking at other mixers and reading reviews, yes there were others that did have few more reviews but I’ve had Kenwood in the past and been happy with their products, my main reason for purchasing this mixer is I’ve always wanted to make my own bread but unable to knead the mixture as I have trouble with pain in my fingers and them going into cramps , but with this machine the mixture is mixed and kneaded ready for it’s first rise in a matter of minutes , I’ve also done cakes , buns with no effort needed, it is also so easy to clean after use. I am Very happy with my purchase (and so is other half as he gets to eat the buns lol)

My recent purchase of a Kenwood Food Mixer for my wife from ao.com was once again a great success. The product is exactly as we ordered. It is indeed a large mixer and is quite heavy but the quality appears to be outstanding. The ao service was also outstandingly good.

I am really enjoying my new Kenwood chef xl, I have had other Kenwood mixer but this one is very robust, I think it will a very long lasting machine. I’m looking forward to many years of baking ahead.

Yes, it may not be as pretty as other mixers. Yes, it does not sit on your counter looking like a showpiece as other mixers do. But, let's remember that we don't buy mixers for those reasons. We buy mixers to mix, primarily for mixing cake/bread ingredients. Having had the pleasure of using other brands both myself and in friends/family kitchens over several years (early 40s) I always return to Kenwood! Kenwood is superior in every sense. I have never been disappointed at any point with their mixers. They are efficient, strong and amazing mixers. I love watching the mixer effortlessly cream the sugar and butter to a lighter fluffy mix and then slowly add my eggs. The mixing is perfect with no curdling. (This, of course could be down to my own skills! Unlikely, but thought I'd throw that out there!) I make large birthday cakes to order (10 eggs usually per individual cake that depending on opulence of request I'll need to make a few to build) hence, trying so many mixers! My other mixers have struggled with these large quantities and I decided needed a bigger bowl. Having had a horrendously disappointing experience with the other BrAnd I didn't even look at their bigger bowl version, it HAD to be kenwood. I should never have allowed my frivolous fashionable (that'll look amazing on my worktop) side to choose at any point in my past. Forever scraping the side to make sure whole thing was mixed. No planetary mixing action there! My cousin was exhilarated to accept my offcast but equally disappointed as time came to pass. It eventually ended up with my mother, who has always mixed my hand and with her age creeping higher was glad of the help without experiencing the disappointed feeling. I should have given it to her first in retrospect. I am saying Kenwood is King: - Powerful - Effective mixing - Light and airy mixtures produced - Superior cakes produced - Had some grudging compliments from people, but cakes were so good they would have seemed pretty to have said anything else. - The planetary motion catches every grain of sugar in the bowl. - Large bowl = easier life for large batches - Even easier to do the small volumes for cupcakes if it a child's party for example (cookie monster cupcakes are very popular) but not always children's parties popular with women's birthdays too! I love baking and as you are investing a lot of money always choose substance over style. Yes, I know the GBBO used the other brand. If I'm being honest that it what sealed my decision before. But, save yourself the disappointed feeling. I've been around the houses brand wise and I am NEVER moving away from Kenwood again. I am forever buying, trying and then selling to try another brand. I am getting older and need to settle and just get on with baking as it is my bread and butter. The only con was it's weight, but mixers are heavy. All mixers are heavy, apart from the small hand mixers but they are not even in the same book as stand mixers for baking. So, I didn't like the weight. The only downside I found. But, they are heavy and that is it. No point in being grumpy about it as every brands mixer is heavy. You just need to get on with it! I am doing that now and if anyone asks me now, tell me cake lady what should I get? 'Kenwood, large XL if you are doing bigger cakes and even if you're not it's still an amazing mixer. Buy Kenwood, they are King'.

Delighted with this and very convenient to get it on finance. The size of the bowl is excellent for large batch baking and it seems very well made. Hope it lasts for many years to come!

After reviewing many stand mixers. I chosen Kenwood Chef XL 1200w Excellent machine , I was turn between XL and standard one. I glad with my choice as it give me opportunity to make bigger cakes and bread loafs .Absolutely powerful beast. Possibility for more attachments . So instead many different appliances this machine can do it all ( smoothness, pesto, ruff chopping )

My old Kenwood died after 45 years of use so I upgraded to this machine. Quieter to run, much bigger bowl so I can produce more, faster. Great range of attachments for me to get every birthday & Xmas from here to forever! Good value for money, highly recommend.
