Underwhelming
4/5
I wanted a reasonably priced upgrade from my 2014 version and didn’t feel the m4 was good value for money when the 2014 had 1tb of storage so I opted for the m2 512gb version so I could eventually turn the 2014 into additional storage and have them stacked.
Am I impressed with my buy, honestly no, from day one it seems, sluggish, which is odd, more sluggish than my 2014 and that had lots on it, is it good value for money yes, so I like the number of usb sockets in comparison no, two is not nearly enough when most people have accessories with original usb but everywhere is now pushing for usb-c (thanks eu) I miss the four and this is one reason I steered away from m4, after previously having an iMac also I am reluctant to have wires and add ons everywhere the idea is for these products to to be streamlined which it isn’t if you have to have additional socket expansions everywhere.
Did it arrive on time? Yes two days early, are there better non Apple products,‘I think so, Apple seem over priced and underwhelming now days which is disappointing, there are ways around the storage issue but the fact remains it shouldn’t be an issue nor should the common folk be priced out of a computer due to greed. Did I have much choice but to upgrade, no my other one lacked security and with joyful hackers near by I needed something not running on open core patcher. Would I buy again, no, would I buy from ao, most definitely they are faultless have good credit lines and good prices in comparison to other places it’s just apply under performing and over charging that lost it a star and I was generous giving it four.
8gb memory seems awful and the storage won’t stretch far, if you want it for just Microsoft office then it may be ok but it’s still not the best of the best, not to mention the battle to make it accept its in the uk and not usa was mammoth it wouldn’t accept the settings being changed easily.
