Poor Hotpoint service this time

Unfortunately I got a faulty item, the first wash was fine then the second one came up with an error. You have to contact Hotpoint first and they tried troubleshooting before confirming it does seem it's a faulty machine. Their process is to then first send someone just to visit and confirm the issue (but not fix at that visit), then they'll schedule resolving it. They refused to just authorise exchange, even though due to their appointment timings it meant I'd be without a washer for 2+ weeks. They said that if I'd called within 48 hours of delivery they would have exchanged, so I recommend to anyone to do several washes in the first day (the only reason I didn't call in 48hr was it was Easter bank holiday!). I got this machine as I had a great Hotpoint washer dryer previously so was an advocate of the brand - needless to say I am no longer!
