Just love my new gas hob. It looks really smart in my kitchen, clean lines and easy to wipe down.

I recently purchased the Bosch Series 4 PGP6B5B90 58cm Gas Hob - Stainless Steel, and after using it for a while, I’m really impressed with its performance. The hob has a sleek, modern design that fits seamlessly into my kitchen. The stainless steel surface is easy to clean, and the cast iron pan supports feel sturdy and durable. The control knobs are well-positioned and have a smooth, responsive feel when adjusting the flame. This hob delivers excellent heat distribution across all burners, making cooking much more efficient. The burners ignite quickly with the automatic ignition feature, and the flame control allows for precise cooking, whether I’m simmering a sauce or boiling water rapidly.

I love the simplicity of use

Looks robust and well designed. Fits in the designated worktop hole cut as per instructions: always a tense moment. Like the fact the controls are on the top.

On the face of it the usual Bosch quality and sleek design but there are problems which become apparent when you start using it. The main issue is the cast iron pot stands. No matter how careful you are removing and replacing these for cleaning they will come into contact with the stainless steel hob service causing ugly scratches as the cast iron is a lot harder and heavier then the stainless steel. The other problem is with the control knobs which in this model are plastic. Being plastic if any pan base or other item comes into contact for even a split second they melt and get marked. Okay you can buy replacements but an extra £10 on the price to make these metal would have been a much better idea.
