    Fantastic Immersive Picture, Great Value

    5/5
Absolutely love this TV! We replaced our 12-year old Samsung LCD TV so obviously knew this was going to be in a different category, but completely flabbergasted with the picture quality for the price. I can't stop watching David Attenborough now! I was really undecided whether to go with an OLED rather than this Neo QLED but having spoken to a few TV geeks I'm convinced we bought the right one for us, mainly because we have an 'L' shape lounge and need the deeper viewing angle. Also didn't want to worry about screen burn, I think OLED may possibly show a better shade of black but I'm more than happy with the Neo QLED picture quality. One thing I didn't realise was that the TV has Bixby voice control, I thought it was a bit of a gimmick but actually already used it a few times when the remote is not to hand, even with a northern voice it works really well. There are other options for ALEXA voice control. We did get a Samsung Soundbar bundled with the TV and I must admit even though it is only an entry model (HW-S50B) it is still so much better than just the TV speakers. It also integrates so well with the TV, the Q-Symphony sound option uses both the soundbar & TV speakers to optimise the acoustics. The soundbar integrates with the TV remote so it turns on/off when TV is turned on/off. I did buy a new ARCe HDMI lead as wasn't sure if our old one was up to spec and it did make a noticeable difference improving the sound quality. Also handy if you want to play some tunes from your phone, just connect via bluetooth to the soundbar (or via the Samsung Smart Things App). The only negative for the TV is the cable managements on the back of the TV are rubbish, there are channels to push the cables into but they just pop straight out, so sticky clips are needed to keep it all neat. Overall really really pleased with both the TV/Soundbar & the service AO gave us, unbeatable value and a spot on service, lots of notifications regarding delivery, phone call 15 minutes before delivery. I made a huge mistake when I submitted my order as my computer auto corrected the delivery address to our old house number! I was panicking as imagined someone else accepting delivery of our new TV! But got straight through to AO support who corrected the delivery address straight away. Samsung are definitely the go to TV manufacturer & I think AO have pretty much perfected it as a supplier.

Amazing picture quality, AI customisation feature is great if you are a sports/movie buff who wants to set the picture for the optimal viewing experience sound is great too, highly recommend getting a soundbar though for that extra depth. Best TV I've ever owned.

Excellent picture quality. Easy to setup. Works nicely with my LG soundbar without any special setup needed. Just plugged the TV in, followed the onscreen prompts, entered WiFi password, then up and running.

Samsung 55-inch QN90D Review: A Stellar TV for Picture and Sound

    5/5
The Samsung 55-inch QN90D is an impressive TV that strikes a great balance between stunning visuals, solid audio performance, and sleek design. Here’s my take on why it’s an excellent choice for many, with some minor points to consider. Picture Quality The QN90D features Samsung’s Neo QLED technology, which delivers brilliant picture quality with vivid colors, deep blacks, and exceptional brightness. Whether watching in a bright room or during nighttime, the screen performs well, thanks to its excellent contrast and local dimming. The 4K resolution, combined with Quantum Dot technology, ensures vibrant, lifelike visuals that make every scene pop. Fast-moving content like sports or action movies is handled smoothly, with minimal blur, thanks to the high refresh rate and motion smoothing. Sound Quality For built-in TV speakers, the sound on the QN90D is surprisingly strong. It offers clear dialogue and well-rounded audio without the need for an external soundbar, especially in smaller or mid-sized rooms. The Object Tracking Sound feature provides a more immersive audio experience, making it feel as if the sound is coming directly from the action on the screen. However, for audiophiles or those seeking a cinema-like experience, pairing it with a dedicated sound system might still be worth considering. Design and Fit One of the highlights for me is how perfectly this 55-inch model fits into the space. It has a sleek, modern design with ultra-thin bezels that add a premium feel to any room. Its compact profile allows it to sit nicely on a stand or be wall-mounted without dominating the space, which is perfect for those who need a big-screen experience without overwhelming the room. The cable management system helps keep things tidy, which adds to its overall clean aesthetic. Smart Features Samsung’s Tizen operating system runs smoothly and offers a wide range of apps and streaming options, including Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and more. It’s user-friendly, with a responsive interface that’s easy to navigate. Voice control is available through Bixby, Alexa, or Google Assistant, which adds convenience, but the voice assistants aren’t always perfect in understanding complex commands. Gaming Performance For gamers, this TV shines as well. With its HDMI 2.1 support, low input lag, and variable refresh rate (VRR) technology, the QN90D is a fantastic choice for next-gen consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Gaming on this TV feels fluid and responsive, with little to no lag, making it a great pick for competitive or casual gaming. Areas for Improvement While the QN90D excels in most areas, there are a few things to keep in mind: Viewing Angles: Like most VA panel-based TVs, the viewing angles could be better. If you’re watching from the side, the colors might lose some vibrancy and brightness. That said, it’s less of an issue if you’re sitting directly in front of the screen.
