This review is based on initial impressions- I haven’t had the dryer long enough to comment on long term reliability. I purchased the Miele because they have the highest rating as an ethical company from Ethical Consumer and it’s also a A+++ rated appliance. They also have a good reputation for build quality. It was easy to set up, with clear instructions in the manual. However the app was more problematic- it took four tries to connect on my mobile phone (Android), and having successfully connected it then does not always reconnect to select a drying program. I also downloaded the app on my iPad and this connected first time and communicates more reliably with the dryer. Whilst you can select the drying programmes manually via the rotary dial on the machine, you can’t use the more advanced options manually, only via the app (for example if you want to set the drying cycle to extra dry). Personally I feel this is a disadvantage because you should be able to select all programme variations manually. Also, once a programme is selected on the app, the display on the machine does not show time left (this is only shown in the app). In terms of operation, it is pretty quiet and has, so far, dried the washing loads successfully. Emptying the water container is easy and there is also an option to empty the water directly into sink or drain via a hose at the back of the machine. Accessing and cleaning the filters is relatively easy too. The manual suggests that the filters are rinsed after each use, which seems excessive. Overall I am pleased with the performance, but don’t feel it warrants five stars due to the fact that you have to use the app if you want to access all programme variations.

When it’s Miele, you just know it will be a good workhorse. Very quiet and plenty of programmes.

Good quality, works well, gets the job done.

Never owned a tumble dryer and we went for this as it had great reviews and a friend had one. Haven't looked back, it super easy to use and with the app you get notifications to say it's done, which is handy as ours is in our shed, in the Highlands (works just fine in really cold conditions). Only had a few weeks so not noticed any crazy bills. Totally recommend.

Efficient machine which is easy to use

Loving this new machine. We had our previous Miele for over ten years and loved this too. This new one is next level though. I didn’t know about the WiFi options. It has wonderfully clever settings too but is still really easy to use/clean etc. the new heat pump is amazing. Energy efficiency has been proven by our meter and takes the same time as our old dryer. Love it!

We have owned Miele products before, but the new build house we moved into had appliances from different manufacturers. After a while you realise that they just aren’t as good, so we will be replacing them as and when we can afford to. The AO account makes it easier to purchase them and you never know, you may get a members only price!

This tumble dryer is the best I’ve ever had, highly recommend it it’s efficient and very quiet.
