Excellent for the price, be aware that it helps to be familiar with apps/tech savvy.
4/5
Stylish TV with almost no bezel so it's nearly all screen meaning we could fit a slightly larger screen in place of our old TV. Picture quality, when you take some time to set it up, is very good but do turn the godforsaken motion smoother off. The TV is packed with features and might confuse someone hoping to just plug it into an aerial or cable box. But for the more tech savvy, the option to use a traditional or modern style remote (both included) or the Samsung Smart Things app is useful. It even works with my little wi-fi keyboard (USB dongle inserted into the TV's port).
I haven't really tested the unit's internal "sound bar" as I use an AV amplifier and 5.1 speakers. indeed it's been about 30 years since I made use of an internal TV speaker. The only problem here is that the TV tries to control my AV amp. This is good for adjusting the volume but the TV seems to have picked up a habit of changing the input on the amp from "cable" to another input I am currently not using. Changing it back manually two or three times seems to solve things, and perhaps the TV will get the message eventually. I like that I can easily cast to the TV from my Samsung smartphone even though it's an older model of phone, at the touch of one icon on my phone screen. Casting quality is much better than MiraCast used on my previous TV. This is where the 4K resolution of the TV comes in handy, viewing photos from my phone as my cable TV is only 2K. Pictures are very crisp and colours good, again once adjusted to your tastes. I found the screen did tend a bit towards the red end of the spectrum and adjusted the colours accordingly.
Getting it out of the box and on my existing stand was pretty easy. It's not especially heavy. For the price, especially given the features, I would recommend this TV. With the caveat that it might confuse someone older or less familiar with menus. The opening screen has lots of options for various apps built into the TV, oh and it even has games you can download. I am sure that after one week I'm still scratching the surface of the full list of features but it's doing lots more than my previous TV, for a lower price.
