    Gas cooker installation

Find out everything you need to know about our gas cooker installation service.

Our fully trained team can get your new gas cooker up and running on delivery day for just £115. All our engineers are gas safe registered and can provide you with a gas certificate upon completion. Find out what's included in the service and what you can do to prepare for us.

    What we'll do

If you’ve selected our installation service for your new appliance, we’ll also unpack your new cooker when we get there and disconnect your old one too.

We need to do some gas tests before and after the installation. So, if you’re on a meter, make sure it’s topped up. Don’t worry about cables. We’ll bring everything we need to get your new cooker installed.

Then it’s the exciting part. We’ll get to work installing your new gas cooker in its home! We’ll take pictures during installation, just so we’ve got a record of the service.

Picked our Remove & Recycle service? We’ll take away your old cooker when we leave. We are unable to disconnect or recycle Aga appliances.

    What you need to do

The image above is an example of a generic Hot Zone. Your existing Hot Zone (the space around your hob) will need to be free from switches, cooker hoods and flammable items, including cupboards and wallpaper. There’ll need to be a gap of at least 75cm between your hob and the cooker hood or ceiling above. We will not be able to install if it isn’t clear of hazards.

As with any gas appliance, you’ll need to make sure the room that your new cooker is going to be living in has direct ventilation to an outside space. We’ll need to hook up to an existing gas supply. Double check you’ve got access to one. There’ll also need to be a 3-pin socket or cooker point (that big red switch) within 1.5 metres of where your new cooker is going to live. You’ll need to make sure we have access to a gas meter. If you’ve got a pre-paid meter, it’ll need enough credit to make sure we can check everything is working for you.

Check that your existing electrical connection (it’ll be a plug socket or a big red switch) matches what's required for your new cooker. If you can't get to the socket or switch, you'll be able to find what it is in the product manual of your current cooker. Either dig out the book that came with it or quickly search the model number online. All the information you need for your new appliance is listed under the Installation tab on our product pages.

You’ll also find the dimensions of your chosen cooker within the Product Detail section on our product pages. Double check that the height, width and depth are suitable for the space in your kitchen.

    What we don't cover

    • Although our teams are fully qualified to carry out gas installations, we can’t fix existing gas leaks.
    • If an old boiler doesn’t relight after we’ve installed your new appliance, our team are not liable. Your provider will need to be contacted.
    • We won’t alter or amend any of your property. For example, we won’t remove your worktop if you previously had a separate oven or hob and we won’t remove anything which is within the Hot Zone.
    • Our gas installation service is not available at commercial properties – there has to be a separate residential meter.
    • The installation of cooking products is only available on certain days in certain postcodes.
