The overwhelming desire I had back in May to make ice lollies and eat them has somewhat died down. Don’t get me wrong, if you were to put a nice big ice cream in front of me right now, I’d definitely eat it, but I don’t feel the urge to actually make my own ice lollies anymore. That can wait until next spring. Maybe it’s because summer is very slowly starting to draw to a close and my mind is already set on other treats.
So, I found myself with a bunch of wooden sticks for the ice lollies I never made. What to do with them? Well, as it will soon be hot drink season, why not put them to good use and make a coaster?
Clever, right? And as I like to decorate small things with washi tape, I thought I’d put that to use as well. Read on if you like the idea and I’ll explain how to make this coaster in a few easy steps.
here's what you'll need...
- Lolly sticks, 12 per coaster
- Washi tape with any design you like
- A cutting mat
- A craft knife
- Small scissors (rounded nail scissors are ideal)
- PVA glue & paint brush
