How do I disconnect a dishwasher?

    Here's what you'll need:

    • Towel
    • Bucket
    • Pliers or a wrench
    • Blanking disc/cap - you can buy this from your local hardware shop
if you no longer have the one that came with the dishwasher.

    Unplug old dishwasher

Carefully shuffle your old appliance out from its home and uplug it from the socket. Turn off your water supply and grab yourself a bucket and a towel.

    Remove water hose pipe

Take out the water hose pipe from the back of the machine and tip any remaining water from the pipe into the bucket.

    Remove connection from wall

Using pliers or a wrench, remove the other end of the water hose from the wall. Empty any remaining water from the hose into your bucket.

    Remove the drain hose

Remove the drain hose from the waste pipe under or near your sink and pour out the wastewater.

    Cap off the water pipe

Put the blanking disk (a flat disc shaped screw) inside the water pipe to prevent any leaks.

How to connect your new dishwasher

Learn how to install your dishwasher

We've put together a step-by-step installation guide. So, once your new dishwasher arrives, you'll be able to get it set up and ready to clean your pots and pans.

    Turn off water supply

First, make sure the area is big enough for your appliance and that you have access to a power supply, water supply and a drain. Next, turn the water supply off at the valve, this should be under the sink.

    Run checks

Remove any packaging and go through the manual as some models can differ. Check whether you’re connecting to hot or cold fill. Top Tip: Tilt the dishwasher onto its side to make connection easier.

    Connect water inlet hose

Your dishwasher will come with a hose to connect your machine to your household plumbing. Screw the hose onto your water supply, make sure it’s fastened tight before you turn it on.

    Connect waste water pipe

Connect the dishwasher’s outlet hose to the standpipe (the built-in pipe), the hose will sit loosely in the pipe.

    Check dishwasher is level

Before you move it into place, make sure it’s level by adjusting the feet at the bottom and using a spirit level. Now that it’s level and all the pipes are connected; you can move it into place.

    Plug in

Plug the appliance in and turn on the water supply. Now you’re all plugged in, run a test cycle to make sure everything’s working as it should.

How do I fit a door on an integrated dishwasher?

    Here's what you'll need:

    • Fixings - supplied with your new dishwasher
    • Template - again, this should come with your new appliance
    • Pencil
    • Drill
    • Bradawl/screwdriver

    Run checks

Make sure you have a cabinet door that matches your kitchen as well as the requirements of the dishwasher.

    Use the template

You should get a template with your dishwasher. This helps you make sure you fit the fixings in the right parts of the cabinet door. Line the template with your cabinet door. Mark off the points with a pencil.

    Attach door rollers

Attach and screw in the door rollers (these are metal plates with two wheels) and connection pieces. Make sure each piece is fastened tight.

    Slide door into place

Now you can slide the door into the roller slots on the integrated door. Just lift it up and slide it into place.

    Attach door to dishwasher

Screw in the final few fixings to make sure the cabinet and fixing plate are properly attached to the dishwasher. We would always recommend following the instructions that come with your machine for the best results.
