Grab a tape measure and check the height, width and depth of your current model or wherever you want the new appliance to live. You’ll need to account for any water pipes going in and out of the dishwasher, so add about five extra centimetres to the depth of the appliance to make sure it won’t stick out from under the counter too much. Freestanding dishwashers aren’t designed to sit behind your cupboard doors.
