Range cooker measurement guide

Find out everything you need to know about sizing up your kitchen for a brand new range cooker with our handy measurement guide.

Range cookers are amazing because they can be so many things at once. They have multiple oven cavities, a space for grilling and hobs. They’re the ultimate luxury for people who love cooking. These appliances can take up quite a bit of room, so it’s important to know if you can fit one in your home. Whether you want to get your first range cooker or your current one needs replacing, we’ll set you on the path to get the perfect one for you.

Range cooker sizes

Luckily, range cookers are quite simple to fit in your home because manufacturers stick to a standard size. The width of a range cooker is either 90cm, 100cm, 110cm but the height and depth are always the same (90cm and 60cm). This makes it easier to know if a range cooker can fit in your home - just get a tape measure out and see how it fits!

Types of range cooker

There are a few kinds of range cookers available to you. You can get ones that run entirely on gas or electric, or you can get ‘dual fuel’ models, which have electric ovens with gas powered hobs. But be careful when you’re replacing an old range cooker. It’d be difficult to switch from gas to electric or vice versa. If you’ve had an electric cooker, the gas supply won’t be there to power it and gas ovens can’t just be replaced by electric. If you do want to make the switch, this may require some major work to sort out.
