I've always had cylinder cleaner in the past as I didn't like the idea of pushing one full of water and the added weight of the machine. It is very easy to set up. The clean and dirt water containers hold a decent amount of water. I'm amazed at how dry it's left my sofa. The sofa and stairs attachment is a little tricky to push down if you don't have a lot of strength in your hands but once lined up I managed it. Quick change over to clean the carpets not heavy or cumbersome. Easy to fill easy to empty easy to clean out and store away in the original box. Just remember to tilt it on it's back wheels to manoeuvre when not in use

I ummed and ahhhed about buying a Rug Doctor for ages as it’s quite an expensive purchase. I’ve used Vax and Bissell carpet cleaners belonging to family in the past and was left disappointed as there although there was evidence that they had cleaned the carpets from the dirty water, there wasn’t much of a visual difference looking at the colour of the carpets. I was therefore unsure that this carpet cleaner would be worth the money either but eventually deceived to bite the bullet and I’m really glad I did. AO sent it out earlier than suggested and it was delivered in great condition, no knocked to the box or anything. The cleaner comes with a small bottle of cleaner meaning you can crack on straight away and the results were amazing. I’ve got cream carpets that I’ve had for ten years and in that fine I’ve also had two kids. Light carpets and small children is obviously a recipe for disaster ?? we also have no side access to the house so everything and everyone needs to come through the house in order to access anything including the garde Two light cream stripes appeared straight away on my dining room floor and although they’re not perfect first time I know that after another run over them I’ll be happy. The pile seems fluffier and they look and smell fresher.

I have a Berber type carpet and I really thought I was going to have to take it up and have new fitted as it was so grubby. My old carpet washer had broken and my husband suggested not getting rid of the old carpet until we’d tried a decent cleaner on it. So we bought the rug doctor. And boy am I glad we did. It’s definitely not the easiest carpet to clean but the rug doctor gave it a good go. It was easy to set up. I used the booster spray option with it and the dirt was just flowing up into the reservoir. It was shocking. I began to see clean stripes on my carpet so made sure I followed a particular cleaning path to avoid having this all over the carpet. I had to fill the clean water tank 3 times to do my living room carpet. It didn’t take long to dry either which was brilliant as my old one left the carpet sopping. My carpet is almost clean now. I’d imagine once we’ve done it again it will be like new. To be fair the rug doctor had a lot of grime to cut through. I’m amazed by it. As I said I’m confident a second wash will achieve perfect or near perfect results. Now the upholstery bit. That was a joy to use. I didn’t think my sofas were dirty at all as they certainly didn’t look it. But again, the rug doctor sucked a fair bit of grime out of them and they look plush again. I’m really pleased with my purchase. I can’t honestly say there’s anything I dislike about it. Well ok, maybe a larger clean water tank would be nice. But that’s my only tiny criticism.

This is an amazing bit of kit. I just moved into a house where the carpets have not been vacuumed even ever since they've been down and I thought they were beyond saving. Rug Doctor brought them up like new.
