    Being Replaced

    1/5
The kettle boils quietly and pours nicely with no water spitting - so very good. And it does look quite smart. But after multiple boils the water still tastes of plastic. I've removed the red widget from inside but no change. Having read the reviews beforehand no one mentioned this problem so I guess I've got an odd one.

    Metallic taste

    1/5
This is the 3rd kettle I have got in a week or so. 1st one still tasted like I was sucking a battery after 18 times boiling it & discarded the water. 2nd one same & wouldn't switch off boiling for ages causing the kettle to wobble around. 3rd one boiled it 6 times so far & still smells & tastes like metal. Makes you feel really sick. Do not know why I'm having so many problems!just want a kettle that works ! can Russell Hobbs tell me why this is happening pls???

    Awful taste

    1/5
This kettle is fast and stylish but the boiled water has a dreadful taste. We have tried everything suggested on discussion websites but the taste remains and is overpowering if the water is reboiled even after just a few seconds. We have had to throw away countless cups of tea and coffee. Russell Hobbs used to set the standard for kettles and we've had a few. We have a £5 kettle that produces untainted water. Avoid this one.

    Good until it leaked

    2/5
Was great to begin with but started leaking from the plastic water level indicator and the process for dealing with the warranty seemed rigged not to work - must submit a picture, but the formats aren't accepted. A budget kettle disguised as something higher quality. Don't waste the 30 odd quid and put it towards something better, or just go full budget.

    Quite and quick

We have an open plan kitchen living area and this kettle is just perfect you can hardly hear it.

has anyone else noticed the TCP-type smell

    2/5
We really liked the design of this kettle. We rinsed it carefully before using it, but after each use the smell and taste of TCP is so strong it needs rinsing carefully or it not drinkable. Back to our old kettle!

    Good kettle

Good little kettle does what it says on the box. Only small criticism is the pouring spout which seems to create a little wave when you pour otherwise decent product

Quick and quiet and seems well made. However boiled water tastes very metallic.
