I bought this iron because of all the excellent reviews. I find it very heavy. Ii is difficult to move over the clothing there was no glide. I borrowed my sister's ancient steam iron and the relief of using something that did glide was great. I ironed 3 shirts in the time it took me to do one with the Russell Hobbs and got a better result. I won't even give this away because as far as I am concerned it is useless.

I find this iron has a strange shape sole plate which makes ironing a challenge....also there is a lot of static and draws some fabrics on to the base, giving the feeling that it is stuck to it! It is also quite heavy.

The good points: It has a long lead and it heats up quite quickly. The bad points: To set the temperature there are tiny little dots, barely visible on the dial. They are so small I had to put my glasses on to see (I have to admit I have never had to put my glasses on to iron before!!). The dial is very loose and if you catch it by accident you can turn up/turn down the heat setting without realising. The sole plate is supposed to glide over the fabric. Not in my experience. If you should have to iron over a seam it drags the item. The steam control button on the top of the iron with the iron I have I'm afraid its all or nothing! There is no storage for the cable (my previous iron you could wrap the cord round the base). All in all I dont think this is a particularly good iron. It has been designed to look good without much thought to the actual practicalities of using it.

Quite heavy and not as smooth as my old iron, but ok in general

Smart looking, good performance but is heavy to use if ironing more than a few items.
