It is a kettle. It boils water quickly and quietly, so I can still hear the kitchen radio at normal volume. Additionally it has a well-designed spout which allows gentle and accurate mixing of sup-a-soups.

Very happy with this kettle so far - the grey colour has a brushed steel finish which matches our other appliances nicely. Time to boil seems quick and it’s easy to see how much water is in the kettle through the side gauges. Filling is easy with the flip top lid and it pours well if you don’t try to get too much out at once! Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase. Only nitpick would be I’d have preferred a white cord rather than black one and the finish on the base doesn’t match the kettle particularly well.

No quieter than any other electric kettle!

I would echo what a previous consumer commented – the kettle was faulty within a month of usage. It was cut off before it was boiled, also with steam coming out from the switch. It was advertised as a quiet boil kettle, but it was only quiet for the first couple of use. Shame, as it’s a nice looking kettle. Ao.com was very helpful. Although it took a while for my call to be answered, but Amy was so sweet and helpful, and managed to get a kettle out to me the following day – most importantly, I have a working kettle for Christmas!

Not quiet. Just a normal kettle

Love my new kettle, very modern, light in weight & boils. Having arthritis it was very easy to lift even with water in it because of the shape and size of the handle. A big ??

This is a lovely looking kettle and matches our coffee maker and toaster. It's a nice quick and quiet boiler and has markers inside for 1,2 or 3 cups. The one downside is the fact it makes the water smell and taste like TCP. But if you boil the kettle, add 2 tablespoons of bicarb of soda and leave it over night. Then empty the kettle and boil a couple of kettles worth of water and the smell and taste will improve greatly.
