To be totally honest, we've only had the machine a short while but we're in no way new to bean to cup. Having had our old well used and abused Jura start to fail due age nearly 15yrs old! We we're keen to upgrade to a twin hopper so as to use Caf and Decaf beans. Being very particular about drinks ie a flat white is 6oz not 10 or 12oz costa et al (home of the flat white my R's) the 21 pre programmed recipes aren't quite right but Fully Adjustable so as with the old machine time spent setting it up to your taste is key after that its press a button and jobs done coffee made just as you like with the luxury of not needing to add ground caf or decaf because the hopper only holds one type of beans. As a default the machine and recipes are set for light and dark roast. It has the usual annoyances of been to cup machines... what sometimes feels like endless feed (water, milk and beans) me clean me cycle, but to be fair when your using 1.5-2kg of beans a month and it being a domestic machine, neither of us would want to go back to regular grinding fill tamp use empty milk clean. The quick buttons mean you can once set to your preferences you favourite is just one press away, you can change beans used with a press of a button so that caf flat white followed by a caf cappuccino followed by a decaf latte is as simple as 1 button, 1 button, 2 buttons (bean selection button to switch beans then drinks favourite button) same amount of coffee same brew time temp water volume, milk volume etc etc definitely lazy/easy!. Built quality seems good, noise and speed of readiness all good, yes a twin boiler can be quick but we're talking seconds and theres no way I can't make the drinks as quick. Price point is very good 2 hoppers ground coffee chute programable etc etc A similar spec Jura was over twice the price and so far its performed as good in making the drink and better in making different drinks with different beans. Im not trusting of Apps so haven't bothered with it and so can't comment on it. so far the only complaint is we haven't found how to switch the type of milk being made (texture} and the smooth textured milk for a flat white isn't there yet but early days and still learning to se it up.

    Great coffee but rubbish app.

Overall I'm very pleased with this coffee machine. It makes an excellent coffee and the machine is easy to use and clean and is very quiet and really that's all you can ask for! However the one big problem is the Melitta app. In a word, horrendous and I can't believe they can't improve it. It's a great idea in principle, keeping two dozen coffee receipts on your mobile that you can tailor to your personal taste would be brilliant but it's so let down by the execution. The connection is bluetooth not wi-fi and you have to physically turn the machine on before using it and it has a time out so you can't ask it to prep you a coffee in advance. Also the machine is only able to remember one device at a time so we can't have the app on both my phone and my wife's. This is exacerbated by the fact that you have to rescan for a bluetooth connection pretty much every time you turn it on making the whole thing frustrating! You can operate basic functions from the machine itself so I tend to just stick to this but for the cost I would really expect them to have sorted something better than this! Don't misunderstand me, this is a brilliant machine that makes remarkable coffee and it is definitely worth considering but don't base your choice on the fact this has an app. TL:DR - Great machine making excellent coffee let down by an app that would embarrass a Windows Phone.

The coffee is great and there are loads of recipes and configuration options. If the app was better this would be five stars.

    Great Coffee

Super machine, really elegant and makes great coffee after experimenting with recipes. Only criticism is manual is not very explicit on how to use and program, lots of info on care and maintenance but very sketchy on use. could do with expanding to a comprehensive step by step guide for an ‘olden’ like me. Did ask Melitta for more info but no reply as yet

    Great coffee maker

    5/5
The best coffee maker I've had. Very easy to use, the coffee tastes great, the milk is splendidly frothed. The only downside is that coffee beans run out quickly, but my husband and I drink coffee several times a day because it's so delicious.
