A Good Looking Budget Range Cooker

    4/5
I am happy with the purchase of a stylish functional product for the price. The hob is wonderful, but the ovens and body have a 'light weight' feel to them. It was only two thirds of the price of the next model so this seems acceptable. Cosmetically the design is good with light grey enamel inside the oven, and a steam cleaning setting for the inside. I have concerns about keeping it looking good as outside the glass doors and steel do not wipe clean as well other stainless cookers. The door handles are basic, as are the knobs. It comes with one shelf and one tray for each oven, but has a good range of positions. The oven fan is quite noisy (which you cannot switch off if the oven is hot), initially this worried me for a kitchen diner, but actually when everyone was talking the oven noise did not intrude. For delivery it is very well packaged without the legs and the back vent, so is a bit smaller than the installed dimensions. I also considered the Fisher Paykel 90cm range (which I think may be better quality) but was not able to find a supplier that would deliver to my post code. It needed quite a bit of juggling to do roast lunch for eight as there was a worrying amount of steam from the vegetables which seems worse in this oven then a better quality cooker. I am sure when I am more familiar with the oven settings this can be avoided. My previous well used oven and hob (Bosh) had been assessed as not economical to repair, so I needed something to be up to date but did not cost the earth; this fits my requirement and was cheaper than just replacing the hob and under counter dual oven, but was a bit more with fitting costs; though if I could justify the cost I would have paid more for a more solid model.

    Looks great

There is a slight whistling sound from the gas hob at times, but it looks great. The larger oven is a good size to get large pans into, and the small one is perfect when you have a small dish to cook and don't need to heat a massive space. Love it!

    Looks more expensive

Cooks great so far and it doesn't bother me that there aren't more racks. It does show up marks so have to be vigilant in cleaning but it's my pride and joy at the moment so forever buffing it up! It was great as we didn't need a 32amp fuse as it's lower kilowatts. Only issue is it doesn't fit flush to the wall like my previous cooker. Loving it so far!!!

    Smeg Range Cooker

Whilst the Smeg range cooker looks good it is not easy to keep clean - stainless steel smears. The fan is rather noisy for a while after using and if using the grill this heats the cooker knobs so be aware.

    Very pleased

Purchased this cooker to put in to the house we were renovating so didnt get to use it straight away. Since moving in I have been experimenting with each over and different settings on the big oven. It always takes a while to get to know your cooker and so far have tested sponge cakes, pastry, yorkshire puds and all the normal roasts etc. Very please with the standard setting on both cookers as they cook sponges perfectly. It seems they are slow in rising compared to the fan setting but the cakes come out with a much better texture. Have always thought fans were too harsh for sponges. Pasty and yorkies were perfect too. My only grip is that the small oven does not take a normal 12 size bun tin! And as everyone previously says....why only one shelf???? Love my new oven and my husband is very happy with the cakes and yorkies....so much so he says I can stay!! lol

    Not a 'Fan'

    4/5
Nice looking cooker, heats up quickly and does the job. Only gripe I have is that the fan kicks in after a while and then stays on for a good half hour after cooker is switched off and is very noisy , also glass on front is a pain to keep clean.
