    worth the money

    4/5
cheapest dual fuel range cooker I could find that still looks nice! The feet were plastic though which really lets down the look of the stainless steel cooker, so I used the feet from my old range and it looks great! For the money, compared to other range cookers, I think its good value.

Much, much better than 'It'll do'.

So far so good. Good looking range, and even better when nice, and new, and shiny. Didn't expect, and wasn't looking for problems, but here's my tuppence worth. Having cooked with a Kensington Belling for 15+ years, and got used to all its idiosyncrasies during that time, it was a bit of a learning curve using this new Smeg range. First, got to say a solid piece of kit. Oven doors have a reassuring, but gentle, thunk when closing. Pan rests and gas burners all look as if they'd withstand multiple fry ups and stir fries, with easy access and removal for cleaning afterwards. Nothing ornate or fiddly. Performance wise, switching on burners feels satisfying after years of pressing dials with one hand and using another to press the spark - a small thing, sure. But satisfying nonetheless. Both ovens were 'burned off' prior to use. The smaller oven especially is a bonus. Cooking for two these days doesn't require as much food as a bigger family, so the smaller oven is used more often - reducing fuel costs. No obvious faults or anomalies regarding consistent/accurate oven temperature. So far, following packaging instructions, all foods cooked and baked to perfection. I know...a cooker, is a cooker, is a cooker, why the fuss? Because if you dislike the way your cooker is set out, or it becomes a faff to use, you tend to use processed/microwave, or get delivered, generally you don't eat as healthily. This cooker? I like it, and I like using it. Could it have come with another grill pan, another shelf? Yes. Should I have splashed out more for a pyroclastic function? Not necessarily. Would have been nice but not essential. I wish the hieroglyphics on control dials were explained better but, all in all, this has been a useful and welcome purchase.

Great but could do with more shelves.

Product is great. Quite a few useful functions such as timers, steam cleaning. So far so good. The only reason for the deducted star is that there is only 1 shelf in each of the ovens, so we will need to make a subsequent purchase.

    Nice cooker

    4/5
Lovely looking cooker and so far so good! Only criticism is the plastic legs - bit of a pain to get in place without them bending and fear of snapping. Also the manual does not have pictorial instructions of the various cooker settings so a bit of guesswork required at the moment…!

    Fab oven!

    4/5
Love this oven. Heats up quickly and cooks evenly. Main oven has a fan, small oven doesn't but I haven't really found this an issue! Everyone has commented on how lovely it looks. The only reason I haven't given this 5 stars is because it only comes with one shelf for each oven. You get separate grill pans for them both which is great but I would have liked an extra shelf. Only a little niggle but a bit frustrating all the same as I'll need to buy one separately

    Budget Smeg

    4/5
This range cooker is built for AO and has a rather flimsy budget feel to it. The metalwork is thin and the iron hob is coarsely finished. I doubt whether the temp markings stencilled onto the controls will stand the test of time. That said, the actual performance so far has been good. If you can afford a better model of Smeg you will probably wish to buy that rather than this.

    Lovely looker

Lovely design, easy to clean, looks great & at a good price for what it is. Doesn’t get 5 stars because of the storage underneath the ovens isn’t fabulously well designed (my previous cooker was better), the instructions are awful so I had to do much googling & the ECO setting doesn’t seem to work?
