    Double oven

    3/5
Looks nice & easy to install however this oven had a faulty grill which I discovered from its first use . Thought this wouldn’t be a problem as it was only a few days old and on the front was a larger sticker saying 10 year guarantee and it comes with a one year warranty . So after quite a few phone calls & trying to sell me an extended warranty it’s not going to be looked at until 24th January! What an appalling service will never buy from AO again . Luckily the oven works however cooks slower than expected .

    Everything seems to take longer

    3/5
Seems like a good, well built oven overall, but everything seems to take longer to cook than the one that this one replaced. This may be due to the temperature dial having less increments than the incumbent. I maybe have to start overestimating the temperature to get it right? On the whole, this oven seems to heat up quickly and runs really quiet.

    Double oven

    3/5
I am not that impressed with my new double oven and grill. The grill pan is really small and keeps turning it’s self off during cooking. I might have a faulty one so I am going to try using once more the report if it switches off. I have a large family and it doesn’t fit enough chops under I had to do 2 sittings (hard work) The oven is not as efficient as my old one either taking longer to cook things. Overall is is just a mediocre appliance but it was cheap and fit in the space I had to work with.

Nice little oven for the price

    3/5
We had to replace our existing oven which had worked well for 12 years, so for ease of fitting, purchased the almost identical model.AO was by far the best for price including delivery, and we were delighted to have it delivered earlier than the specified date. Free delivery with AO is usually within a week (choose your one day), but next day delivery or 48 hour delivery is chargeable - check this when booking in case their offer has changed when you’re buying. Like many companies - AO also charge for removal of your old product and there is also an additional charge for fitting the appliance. Luckily we didn’t require any of these extras so that made AO the most competitive seller. We were pleased to be unexpectedly notified that an earlier delivery slot was available and were notified of this and took delivery within 48 hrs at no extra charge. The oven fitted the existing housing perfectly and was soon connected up and working. Our last oven had ‘catalytic’ liners which was supposed to make cleaning much easier - but it was never very successful despite following the instructions carefully. In addition to this the floor of the oven had no catalytic surface which was unhelpful, so this time we thought we’d try the ceramic coated surface. The instructions say that wiping the oven while it’s still warm immediately after cooking will remove cooking splatters - but this has t proved to be the case so far. Despite this - we’d recommend the oven to others, you get what you Kay for! The door seal on the new oven was slightly misaligned snd some unsealed and inaccessible vents have been added to the front below the door which our previous model didn’t have, however the main oven door glass has been completely redesigned and will be much much easier to clean. The previous model required a tiny screwdriver to remove two tiny metal plates in order to remove the oven door glass - so this has been greatly improved in terms of cleaning and potential for spills to leak into the door recesses. A piece of some sort of oven liner is protruding from two of the lower vents / not sure if these should be removed, but it would be extremely difficult to access them if we decided to do so. Two other difficult to clean small exposed parts have been added, hence the overall score of 3. This is a very basic oven and bottom end of the market - so we can’t complain. If you want something which does a good job in terms of cooking performance, and don't mind some fiddly cleaning issues - then this is the oven for you. Also check out AO as they’re hugely competitive in many instances if you don’t require any of the add-ons they offer surrounding delivery. AO also offered a buy now - pay in six months finance deal at the time of our purchase - may be useful to some people. Lastly, like most companies they offer a service agreement. On a cheap product this is simply not worth the money. Take your appliance cost and divide it by 12. See how much an appliance service agreement costs per month after the appliance is 12 months old.....not at the time of purchase - you already have a twelve month guarantee. When your appliance guarantee is running out, you’ll receive a letter or email asking you if you wish to take out cover. If two years cost of the service contract is approaching the actual purchase price - it’s hardly worth having (you’d hope your appliance would last more than three years after all). So be sensible about this. All in all would recommend this competitively priced product and also would highly recommend you check out AO when looking for electrical appliances.

    hotpoint double oven DD25-401X

    3/5
I needed a new oven - didn't want to pay more than £400, so ended up with this - in the instruction manual is says "any condensation can be mopped up with a dry cloth" - OMG - first thing I cooked, two chicken breasts - oven swimming with condensation - next day, two lamb steaks - same - can't cope with this - don't like it at all. I am in my mid-70's and have cooked all my life, but never experienced anything like this. It is also higher than my last double oven, because it has a "drip" tray underneath the main door - for the condensation I suppose - I am only 4'10" and consequently cannot reach anything cooked in the top oven or the grill because of the extra height. Two other faults with the oven, the light is at the back, which means if you have a casserole dish in there, you can't see a thing, and if you want only half the grill on, instead of either the front or the back of the grill elements being used, it is the left side - you tell me, how you can get one item under the left side of the grill, when the grill pan doesn't go that far over! - wish I had done more research - can't afford to change it, so I will just have to live with it - no, don't like it at all. It looks nice though!

    Not the best

Bought this oven for my new kitchen 2 months ago and am so disappointed, the right side doesn’t cook properly so things like Yorkshire puddings don’t rise on that side but cook great on the left and everything needs longer to cook, a cake that should have baked in 45 mins took 1 hr and 15 mins!!

I should have checked the internal dimensions of the oven before ordering. Oven functionality good, instructions adequate, good budget oven.
