    Hotpoint double oven

So pleased, arrived with in two days. Very friendly service. A good capacity oven heats very quickly. With in hours of it arriving i cook a roast for ten people, next day a birthday cake. Brilliant.

    Disgruntled Customer

    1/5
This item was bought in May 2020 as a replacement for the previous Hotpoint model. Straight away it was noticed that they have removed the cooling fan from this latest model. Fast forward to April 2022 and the main oven will not heat up and the timer alarm volume is very variable, sometimes hardly audible even if standing next to it. With the warranty expired I contacted Domestic and General (Whirlpool Repair Service) and was quoted £189 for the repair and one years warranty, half the price of a new item ! Decided to bite the bullet and scrap this very poor appliance and bought a German machine. More expensive but I am sure will be more reliable and comes with a two warranty. 23 months reliability is a poor return and it may be related to the removal of the cooling fan. I certainly will not be buying any more Whirlpool/ Hotpoint appliances.

Condensation drips from oven door on opening!

The product was okay at first but then we noticed water draining from the oven when you open the bottom oven door. There is a drip tray you can fit. However there shouldn't be any water coming out so AO allowed us to replace the product with another more expensive oven.

    Not as expected!

After reading the reviews, we purchased this oven, however, we are very disappointed. The temperature is not as on the dial and have to put it higher.  This is always a worry as you are never sure if the item is cooked as per the instructions. The water at the bottom seems to leak and also some white insulation at the bottom is coming out. Have used ovens over the years and this is the first one which has been really disappointing.

    Grill not fit for purpose

    1/5
I am very happy with the oven for use in oven mode. However the grill does not work for longer than 10 minutes at a time without turning off. If you leave it on it does then turn on again and continues to cook. But this means the time to cook anything takes ages. I have been passed between AO & several Hotpoint departments only to be told this is an energy saving feature. When I point out this is all well and good but it doesn't actually continue to cook whilst in energy saving mode. No one is in the slightest bit interested and just keep passing me on to a different department. If you would like to use the grill for anything other than toast don't buy this.

    Dreadful

    1/5
We purchased this when we moved house recently - we had had a similar Hotpoint in our previous home for 14 years and it was great. This one is a dreadful disappointment. We have to cook everything in the main oven (fan) at 200 degrees or higher. The grill switches off mid-way through cooking then won't come back on for ages. This makes it impossible to grill bacon properly. Have just contacted the company that manage the aftersales to book a repair and was told that the grill is a "variable grill" and it cooks (or not) in this way to save energy (!). Was also told that if we called out the engineer to look at the oven and it turned out there was nothing wrong with it or that we had damaged it ourselves (we haven't) we would be liable for the call out fee and potentially the entire repair cost. The person was more interested in selling me more insurance and was pretty rude and abrupt when I said no thank you. This cooker is two months old. With delivery and removal of the old cooker we paid just under £400 for this rubbish one. We are going to scrap it and buy something completely different. Avoid at all costs.

    Don't buy

    1/5
If you want a reliable oven don't buy this one. Oven not correct temperatures, engineer been out to it and says temperatures could vary to either 15 degrees above or below, oven cuts out, not even all round temperature. Rang AO again, very helpful, can't fault AO.

Had this oven for just over 18 months and the main oven has now broken. Also on going problems from the start, i should have reported sooner.
