    Fauly & disappointing

    1/5
Oven arrived faulty with a Top Grill that doesn't properly heat up, currently waiting for almost 2 weeks for an engineer to be sent out to look at the problem. Main oven also seems to have a problem with condensation, as it was supplied with a metal drip guard to attach to the unit the oven sits in, this however doesn't catch all the moisture, which ends up running down the cupboard door of the unit underneath. The knobs are also difficult to read for a shorter person as the numbers are on top of the knobs.

    Absolutely terrible oven

Absolutely terrible oven - leaks vast quantities of condensation from main oven. Comes with drip tray/strip but does little to collect water. Ruined my kitchen units underneath.

Would NOT recommend wasting money on this oven

I purchased this oven as the most direct replacement for my previous Hotpoint model but cannot stress just how disappointed I am with it. The design of the temperature control knob is just ridiculous that you have to stand on a stool to read it, plus it is graduated in 30 degree units, not 20 which makes it a lot less accurate. The main problem I have encountered is that the fan oven does not reach nor maintain the correct temperature and there is a 20 degree temperature discrepancy with what is set and what is achieved. This oven is pointless if it does not maintain or even gain its temperature reliably. I have used both an oven thermometer and also a laboratory temperature probe to monitor the temperature so know that it is inaccurate. Also, the top grill has a mind of its own and is nothing as efficient as the previous model. I am contemplating returning it to AO - although it is not AO's fault it is just Hotpoint's inferior design ability. To say I am disappointed is an understatement - my last Hotpoint only lasted 5 years - this one has underperformed within a month ! Hotpoint used to have a good reputation and that's all about they are trading on if this is the standard of their new products because it definitely is not quality. I changed from Bosch to Hotpoint 5 years ago but I definitely will not be buying another Hotpoint oven again and although the exterior is stylish, the push in knobs are a very useful addition, the glass is easy to clean, as is the oven, if it does not do the job of cooking efficiently and reliably then this oven is a pure waste of money.

order placed march and oven fitted March do have given the appliance and company time!! looks amazing and slick, dials retract and overall a very clean modern look just the fact you need to be quite tall to see what temp your cooking on as the number on outside of the dials. operating it however is a different ballgame!! topoven/grill..... takes ages to get to oven temp and longer to cook so just use bottom oven. grill is a total waste of time it heats up but then turns itself off when at temp so cooking stops and then re-turns on when it has cooled slightly.... 35 mins to grill sausages is a joke. oven..... takes a long while to get to temperature but when there it cooks ok takes slightly longer than my previous. however whilst cooking water drips out from underneath door onto cupboard underneath making a puddle which according to hotpoint is normal practice as the condensation has to escape?!!!! hmmm new to me and one I have never found before. never again I am already having to source a new one 3 months after purchasing otherwise I'll soon have to replace the underneath cupboard and part of my flooring. stay clear or learn the hard way like I've had too.

    Very poor oven - avoid!

This oven looks good but cooks bad. The main oven takes AGES - over 45 mins - to get to a temperature of anywhere near 200 degrees and never reaches its maximum temperature!. At the same time, the oven leaks heat. What happens is the control knobs get too hot to touch, any plates put to 'warm' in the top oven get too hot to touch and the outside fascia gets too hot to touch. It's dangerous, in fact. The control knobs themselves are really hard to read unless you are about 6 foot tall with excellent eyesight, because the writing on them is on top of and all around the knobs! I should have done much more research before purchasing because many reviews on other websites selling this item report problems with the oven reaching temperature and leaking heat and the knobs getting too hot to touch! My first and last Hotpoint purchase. On complaining to AO, they have passed on responsibility to Hotpoint. Hotpoint say they have to send an engineer out, and if no fault is found, will charge me £50!

    Factory error

When the oven arrived I used it to cook dinner for my son. I thought it was a bit difficult to use because the signage on the buttons was unusual.Only realised the day after I used it for the first time that the buttons had been put in in the wrong positions by the manufacturer and so there was no way of knowing what temperature you were actually cooking at (ended up giving the kids food poisoning thinking I was cooking at 200oC when in actual fact I was cooking at more like 120oC/150oC). Had to wait a week for someone to come and do a “report” on it, only for him to pop the buttons off and switch them around. To say I am totally fuming about the whole debacle is an understatement.

    Drippy oven!!

    1/5
This oven has a design flaw....it leaks!! It comes with a drip tray which really should have raised alarm bells when we unboxed it. The drip tray overflows and spills into the drawers in the housing unit below. Hotpoint engineer has been out and blamed the seals, which he replaced but this hasn't helped. The top oven door doesn't even close against the seal, you can see straight into the cavity. When I pointed this out to the engineer he said that I was looking into the glass cavity not the oven cavity, and poked the seal in to the gap with his finger! We unscrewed it from the housing unit and pulled it forwards to stop it damaging our new kitchen units and it will filled the bottom of a baking tray on the floor whilst cooking roasted veg. Very frustrated with Hotpoint!!

The actual dials for the whole oven is very disappointing you can not see temperatures any thing on the oven as information is on the dials not in front of you on the cooker so very badly designed for any body that has eye sight problems and for the elderly .
