Buy a kitchen step stool or be 6ft tall for this product

    2/5
How I wish I had read the reviews before I bought! Overall I am generally pleased with the look and function of this oven. However like others I am finding it impossible to read the dials! My double oven is housed in an eye level cabinet but the dials have the functions and temperature written on the sides and unless you are 6 foot tall you will need to get your kitchen stool out to read them. This might sound minor but it really is a problem. Really bad design. My only other gripe is that the top oven does not have a low enough temp setting to just keep things warm in.. lowest setting even before you get to the mark for 100 (standing on your stool to do so) it heats up to 100. Not helpful for those of us who tend to use the small top oven mainly as a warming drawer!

control knobs cannot read the writing as its written on the sides, and they get very hot if grill door(top oven) is left open.. It cooks so slow on fan oven, a joint of pork that in our old oven would have taken a couple of hours, took 4 hours and the crackling was soft. if i could turn back time i would never buy this pile of junk. Look at the Hotpoint website reviews I wish I had first. Total junk

Very Hot to touch outer door and top oven floor even after turned off. Would not recommend if children in the home. Have been told temperature is within permitted limits.

I can not read the dials on the oven. Once fitted the dials are at a height where it's impossible for anyone under about 5'8 to read the dials. The temperature and oven settings are on the proud dial and the top can not be seen unless you are tall. I need to use a small step to see the dial or stand side on and guess the temperature, it's totally unsatisfactory

    Major problem with control settings

    2/5
This oven looks good and cooks well. However, there is one problem which is paramount. The control panel is set at the standard height but the settings are on the side of the knob, with the indicator at the top, and you need to be at least 5'8" tall to read them. I am 5'5" and need to stand on a stool to see clearly which setting I have the oven on. For this reason alone I cannot recommend this oven.

No insulation between top and bottom ovens.

Simplistic, but very functional double oven. Heats up very quickly, but there is a lot of bleed from the top oven to bottom oven and visa versa. The heat loss from the top oven meant it could not reach the top temperature until the bottom oven got quite hot. There is clearly no insulation between top and bottom oven. One benefit from this is that dishes and plates can be warmed easily, but the heat bleed is worrying.

Issues getting to temperature quickly and with condensation

This oven takes quite a while to heat up and also creates a lot of condensation which drips down onto the cupboard underneath when the oven door is opened and closed. Other than that... It cooks evenly and is quiet.
