This is my second AEG extractor fan, I had the previous version of this installed above my cooker and it did a grand job. The old one started to fail, when turned on it would sound like an electric current was going through to it but it wouldn't spin its motors and come on so I decided to purchase this one which is the newer version of my previous one. Again a great product with some very good extraction rates currently only beaten by bigger units and more expensive brands like Range. The previous one lasted me around 6 years with daily usage, I'd probably say heavy usage so for the price originally paid it did well. Hoping this one will last just as long, so far it's been in 7 days and works a treat. I wouldn't say it's overly noisy I mean this is an extractor that pulls up to 600 cubic metres per hour so fairly strong for a non commercial unit, it will generate some noise however if its in a kitchen area it shouldn't really matter as it's not like some units I have come across. I would say it's probably average noise wise as far as extractor units go. LED down-lights are brilliant, they light up your cooking area very well. Price point wise it's a very good purchase. Overall very happy with the product and service received by AO. Only one gripe, the packaging was a little damaged upon delivery but product untouched.

Looks great in new kitchen. Unobtrusive but good lighting. Purchased to go with new AEG oven and hob.

Excellent cooker hood unit, perfect fit and replacement for existing Brittania branded extractor making the job very quick and easy. Plus the AEG is a superior product. Highly recommended.

Nice small unit to go in a canopy cupboard - one thing to be aware of - the recirculation mode still requires a small amount of Ducting to somewhere within the room - the unit does not recirculate internally and out of it's own vents like some

70cm unit is easily fitted in a 80cm wide bridge unit. The hole is cut using the template. Then the switch/surround/grille unit is detached and the casing/motor unit fitted first. If being fitted to a unit already on the wall, the fittings enable it to be a one man job held in place while being screwed. Then the rest is clipped in place. 150mm ducting helps efficiency but is quite difficult for DIYer to put through a double wall. Needs a 152 core drillbit, an extension and a very powerful drill. The extractor is powerful, if a bit noisy on the top setting. Being a half hob depth unit, it needs to drag the steam in. It easily lifts stainless steel gravity flaps. Well made though the plastic switch panel could look better. I've deducted a star through sheer irritation at being made to clean up mesh covered in dirt-attracting glue from an unnecessary warning sticker.

Product selected based on size and capacity. Easy and quick to install and really does the job. Good lighting and easy-to-use control panel. No problem with noise levels. Smoke and fumes are cleared effectively.
