    So far so good

    4/5
My smart meter indicates that this machine seems to be energy efficient, but buyer beware: your integrated kitchen door panel should only be fitted to the right side of the machine, even though there are fixings on both sides of it. (Goodness knows why beko do this, their instructions clearly state door panel to be fitted only on the right, otherwise you cannot access the water tank drawer!) Yes, clothes take longer to dry than my older, vented machine but this must be expected with all new energy efficient dryers and I'm pleased with this one.

    Very Impressed and pleasantly surprised

    5/5
Majorly Impressed by this Beko DTIKP71131 Integrated Heat Pump Tumble Dryer. As an ex-heating engineer, I have a full understanding of how a 'Condenser' dryer works and these newer technology 'Heat Pump' ones too. However after owning a Miele Condenser dryer which I purchased in 2008, which is still going strong now in 2023, I was wanting to purchase a condenser integrated tumble dryer. However finding one of these was the proverbial scarlet pimpernel. I certainly didn't want a heat pump dryer as I'd seen so many youtube clips about how customers said it took ages to dry clothing and how items were not thoroughly dry after a cycle. After many months of doing without a dryer, eventually I got fed up of clothes on radiators, but even worse using 2 maidens in front of the multi fuel burner. I bit the bullet with regards to getting a heat pump dryer, and after seeing that this Beko had over 150 positive reviews on AO, I knew that all those people couldn't be wrong, so I purchased this Beko DTIKP71131W. It was fitted by the delivery team, and I used it the day after. The manual was a brief read, and after getting an idea of the programmes, I put the first load on 'Cotton Eco'. I was mightily impressed by how dry the clothes came out, they initially felt like there was a bit of moisture in them, but a You Tube clip I saw said to just give them a shake and that warm moisture would evaporate, which it did. It felt a bit like how clothing can feel a bit warm and still damp when taking it out of a laundrette dryer, but on shaking them they feel dry, strange, but true. I have since used several programmes on this Beko and all have given great results. The biggest bind, and I expect this is advice given by a lot of tumble dryer manufacturers, is that when putting clothing in, it is advisable to sort and place individual items in separately, rather than how we just grab handful of mixed clothing and place it in a washing machine.

    Do not buy form a.o

Making loud noises from the minute it arrived . Called a.o to come and take the item back and been told I have to let an engineer come and look at it, I then have to refuse any work to be done to it then arrange a return that I will have to pay for…! Considering I’ve lost a day wage to sit in and wait for an engineer to confirm the items faulty… I’ve bought the product new and with in a few days dealing with this….. Not good enough a.o.

    Does not last long

We bought this machine last July and it was fitted in August, hardly used within 13 months. A loud noise started so we called an engineer. He came out to take a look and then told us it is beyond repair as the compressor is faulty. Machine looks still brand new. Tried to sort it with Beko but not interested as we can’t find proof of registering the extended guarantee. After spending a ridiculous amount of time on the phone we give up. I would definitely not recommend Beko products.

    Good in parts...

The installation instructions are disappointing. For example, you need to fit one of two little legs in the front right hand corner, but nothing in the instructions explains which one to use or why. As it was, it snapped off, along with its mounting ,whilst I attempted to slide the machine into place. So one corner of the brand new tumbler now rests on a block of wood instead. Small garments, like socks, often get caught on either end of the filter area. Other than that the build quality seems good. Because it is much more energy efficient than a traditional tumbler, it takes a long time to dry a load. The hinge positions are in a different place to my other built in appliances, so I had to drill new holes in the door, which is pretty tiresome to do neatly.

    Happy ??

Love the product, only disappointing feature is that the door can’t be used both ways, not obvious and I’ve had to change its location in the kitchen because of it.

    Unsure at first

Our old vented tumble dryer finally packed in and we couldn’t find a replacement vented type that would fit exactly in its old space as manufacturers appear to have made the new ones bigger. Although unsure, we had to consider heat pump types that weren’t as deep as vented ones. We chose Beko for price and drying options, which first and foremost, fitted into the space perfectly without disturbing our kitchen layout. First impressions are good. We have found that emptying the water tank is easy and the quality of drying is much better than that provided by vented dryers. Economical to run too but a bit noisier than our old Hotpoint vented. Too early to comment on reliability but very pleased with choice up to now.

Easy to use and the drying time is much faster than the cycle predicts.

This is the first heat pump tumble drier we have had. Always had vented. Was concerned with the drying times but got to say, they are much faster than stated as they run via a sensor. I set to extra dry as cupboard dry leaves the clothes slightly damp. Remember to leave the machine to settle overnight before using it for the first time. I would definitely recommend this item. Very easy to operate.
