Good product but has its drawbacks.

    4/5
Great product, larger than anticipated but fries lovely. Only negative is the window keeps steaming up so you cannot see the food cooking and still produces a lot of steam when lid is on and you have to quickly take lid away when opening whilst frying to avoid a lot of water droplets in hot oil which could cause injury.

    Fried chicken and chips

    4/5
Lightweight, smart and easy to use, with the oil filtering system a welcome extra. The first time I used it was to make fried chicken and chips and they turned out very well, winning the approval of my son who considers himself to be an expert. Cleaning is pretty straightforward, although the heating element was a bit fiddly

Think I bought in haste !

First of all, usual Impeccable service from AO.com, order and delivery without a hitch. The fact that this item is not quite what I hoped is entirely my own fault. It is a huge piece of equipment, takes up loads of space and though the oil drain feature is a good idea, in practice it is not so good. Please be careful using it, I managed to deposit a litre of oil all over my worktop, floor and myself when I tried to put it back in the fryer. The lid is very insecure and the pouring spout very narrow - a bad combination. On the plus side it has a large capacity and doesn’t get hot on top or sides. It does, however, take rather a long time to heat up compared to my last fryer (also a Tefal). With hindsight I wouldn’t have bought it and can see why it was reduced. I need a fryer so will keep it but hesitate to recommend it.

    Frying Tonight

Those of a certain age, I couldn’t help but say it! This fryer is absolutely worth getting. We did Triple Fried Chips which came out super crispy, crunchy, perfect softness on the inside. Onion rings, again perfect, used James Martins gluten free batter recipe, the one with cider. We also did fried chicken goujons, in the batter. Everything came out very well indeed. Timer button easy to use, same as Temp setting, and very clear picture instructions on the Dial for Fry, Filter and Release. It is exactly as it says about simplicity of cleaning, and we left the oil to cool completely before switching to filter it. Fantastic bit of kit! Recommend!

    Frying made easier

Used it a couple of times and seems to do what it says it should do. Fries spring rolls well, less oil on the cooked item. Looking forward to seeing how it goes over the next couple of months.

Excellent design and makes lovely chips

    4/5
Very impressed with this item. I had done a lot of research before buying, so had confidence that the fryer would be a good one. I would have given it 5 stars, but have only used it twice, so not had chance to see how well it performs over a longer period. I bought it mainly because of the feature where the oil is filtered and stored in a tank below the fryer. It is an interesting design and a good way of storing the oil to prevent any contamination between uses - since it is the kind of item that is unlikely to be used on a daily basis.
