Cleans well but restricted to narrow plates

    2/5
Smart looking, cleans well but large plates or standard Denby plates/bowls do not fit in the racks. Was not a height issue as raised the height of the upper rack as manufacturer suggests, just the narrow low rack prongs would not allow the plates to stand vertically. Previously had a Bosch and never had a problem fitting the same Denby plates/bowls in. As mentioned in other reviews the 30 min programme is very handy and cleans well but there is no count down timer on the programmes which is disappointing.

Good but I question the space distribution

    3/5
It’s a good product my only complaint would be the height of the bottom shelf compared to the top. There seems To be a lot of space at the top for large items but large plates don’t fit in the bottom shelf as they stop the rotation of the spinner.

Cleans well enough but lacking features

    3/5
The dishwasher itself looks smart enough and cleans pretty but it is let down by lack of features. This dishwasher was replacing our old Bosch one and in comparison is lacking in features. Some minor annoyances are: 1) It doesn't remember the last program so each time you switch it on, you have to press a series of buttons just to get it going. 2) It takes a fairly long time on all of the programs. 3) There is no countdown until it's finished so you have to track it or just guess. 4) If you open the door and then close it again, you have to press play again. 5) You can only program the dishwasher to have a delayed start of a max of 8 hours which is kind of useless if you, like me, want to set it to start next morning. Overall, this isn't bad at all but if I was choosing again, I would probably go for something else with better features.

Only one speed wash at 30mins, the eco wash runs for over two hours and includes a drying cycle which i dont use. No medium wash option its short or long. Nice quality and easy fitting.

    A decent, but simple machine

    3/5
Good looking, but basic machine. I previously had a Bosch Aquastar that was about 10 years old. The old machine had better drawer / cutlery basket construction, was quieter and was probably a higher tier machine to begin with. This makes direct comparison to the Hotpoint slightly unfair. Levelling the machine is easy, there is a nut on the front to raise the rear of the machine, while the front struts wind out and can be finely adjusted with a 1" spanner (not included!). I had to place the unit on an offcut of work surface to ensure the struts had enough height to reach the underside of the work surface - your mileage may vary depending on your kitchen configuration. Fitting the front door panel is a pain - make sure you have a second pair of hands to help you / use something on the floor to chock the door panel up on while you are fixing the screws, and the temporary adhesive velcro is hanging on for dear life! Grub screw adjustment on the side of the door to move the front panel a few mm at a time would have been the solution here, and would make this process so much easier. I have a Howdens Clerkenwell kitchen, and the supplied 'baffles' that make up the adjustment for the door panel height seem to match well enough. My old unit had 'infinite' adjustment with a sliding metal box section near the top of the door panel. Cleaning performance seems good - I guess this largely depends on the detergent / tablets that you use. Long term performance remains to be seen - I've only had the machine a few hours and performed 2 heavily soiled washes in this time. The drawers on this machine are lighter duty, and taller glasses tend to slide about on the upper drawer either due to fewer posts, or the mesh construction. I also miss the long knife rack my old unit had - I don't like very sharp long knives unsecured on the top drawer (you might say "don't put those in the dishwasher", but I do). However, for the money - it seems reasonable value. Like other reviewers have said, there are very few semi-integrated machines on the market to choose from, which makes this a somewhat Hobson's choice. Overall, I am happy enough, and you would be too - hence the 3/5 rating. I would increase this to 4 stars if I don't have any trouble with the machine for a year.
