Faulty washer drier was delivered but AO refuse to replace it

    1/5
Not recommended at all I received a faulty washer drier from AO. It leaks water in dry cycle. I contacted AO within 14 days and had their engineer checked the issue. The engineer said I should get a replacement as it was a manufacture fault. It was a brand new but AO refuse to replace the item and send the second engineer, who run thorough investigation, and tried fix it but made it even worth. Now it leaks in wash cycle, too. I reported the fault on the 7th day of delivery, and this is 16th day of delivery but the situation is worse than when I reported as I'm unable to use it in wash cycle, too. This is because the engineer tried to fix the issue. This is not fair as I had to take leave from work for two day for the engineer appointments. The fault was found in the water valve, it was not fitted properly and also a slit in the part so that water come out from there in the washing/drying cycle. AO customer service Luke promised 'compensation' when booking the second engineer as I was not happy, but he refused to tell me what kind of compensation I'm entitled. It doesn't sound promising at all. Very disappointed by AO customer service.

    Please, don't buy this product.

Please, don't buy this product. It took 9 and half hours to wash and dry a normal load (under 5KG). At the end of its cycle, the door wouldn't unlock, and the machine was warm to the touch. I followed the guides in the manual to overcome this issue, i.e. to unlocked the door, but none worked. In the end, it was switched off by the plug for about an hour, and only then did it unlock. Needless to say, the clothes inside were ruined.

Attractive machine with big drum. Smoked effect means cannot see wash during cycle unless light on which is only at beginning and end of wash. Difficult to change programme or pause if made a mistake. User interface not friendly for elderly or arthritic - overly complex. Actual dimensions not as stated. Not that slim. Really about 52-53cm cm deep and not 46cm. 46cm only at very top. It is not quiet or smooth in operation making a grinding sound. This jerkiness can damage your clothes. I also found the product unreliable with repeated F7 motor fault codes for a brand new machine.

    Looks good. Doesn't work.

Terrible machine. Went through 2 machines in 4 weeks. 2 engineer visits and each time said I needed parts and they are well versed in the faults too - can't fault them there! Spend the extra on something like an LG (as advised by their own engineers) On the up side AO were very good and swapped quickly!

    A complete nightmare - avoid

Baffled by all the good reviews, yes it looks good, yes its quiet, and brilliant if you need a slim machine....but... 1. Abysmal controls - its like "what would apple and google not do?" - farcical, have to keep checking the manual, touch screen/sub-menu etc. Honestly farcical. 2. Its got a known fault and had a manufacturing recall - the 2 engineers who have come to fix mine 3 times have told me the circuit board and valve have been recaled due to known faults. 3. It wont turn off, 3 engineer visits and multiple replaced parts and no change, others have the same issue with a quick google... 4. Engineers dont really know how to fix it or have experience with it as its a niche brand, they dont carry the parts so its been months and many, many hours on the hoover candy wait line to book someone to come out with the right parts.I And it still doesnt work properly....not even 1 year old. Buy something mainstream that is less complicated!

Good at washing, bad at drying

Good washing machine, not too power-hungry and with good settings. Severely let down by the drying function - I've had this machine for less than 2 years and I've had to have engineers in (thankfully covered under warranty) twice now because the drying functionality stopped working. No explanation and I use machine cleaners regularly to remove hair and lime scale buildup, as recommended by the first engineer. Made no difference. Better off spending slightly more on a better quality machine that isn't breaking all the time

    Works fine.....unless you're a pet owner.

I was excited to get my first washer-dryer - living in a flat with limited space (for drying clothes either indoors or outdoors), this seemed like the best possible solution. It washes clothes well. I'll give it that. There are several different settings (which I never feel the need to use; if something can't survive a mixed-fabrics 30-degree cycle, I don't buy it) and navigating the touch interface is is straightforward. Having a timer is theoretically nice, but the timer is often inaccurate and will sometimes just get stuck on the last ten minutes for a while. However. I've had to call Haier customer services and have an engineer come out, on two or three occasions, because in the early stages of drying the machine beeped and refused to continue. I'm told that this happened in all cases because something (??) deep in the bowels of the machine had become blocked (I'm assuming with cat hair and/or miscellaneous fluff) and therefore tripped the thermostat, which switches the machine off as a safety feature. I was told by one of the engineers that the dryer is for 'occasional use', and indeed, this is how I use it. The occasion is that I want dry clothes. So, a question: why is this machine designed in such a way that an engineer has to open up the machine and dig into its guts for a component that gets blocked so easily? Why couldn't there have been a lint trap or something similar positioned in a way that's accessible to the end user? I ended up buying some (probably dangerously corrosive) chemical crystals designed to be run through a washing machine to dissolve pet hair, lint etc. The problem reoccurred regardless. I bought the machine last November, so it's still within warranty, so I could get yet another engineer out to do the aforementioned gut-digging - but at this point I just can't be bothered. I'm shopping for a condenser dryer.
