Good small cooker for smaller kitchens

    4/5
Good compact oven for a smaller kitchen which looks nice. The dials turn anticlockwise which feels a bit strange though it is not a major problem. Good to have the glass top as acts as a splash back and this switches off any dials when this is closed if these have been left on low by mistake. The only criticism is that the plug is too short to connect to a plug socket so we are lighting the gas manually with a gas lighter.

    Don’t buy this cooker.

    1/5
This cooker is a waste of money. You literally have to stand on your head to select the temperature and even then you can’t be sure. The glass top is flimsy and I had to buy plastic pads to stop it hitting the wall when it was raised. The oven is so low it’s quite difficult to get a firm grip on the baking tray to remove the cooked food , don’t buy if you have issues with your back. A great disappointment! Wish I’d never bought it I wanted to return it but they wanted half the cost of the cooker to exchange it. And to add insult to injury the cooker top was scratched but when I reported this I only got a tiny refund.

Indesit Cloe - adequate but not the best design

    3/5
It works. However, as I use it I find a number of annoying niggles. 1. The oven light is on all the time - a waste of electricity as the oven is so low I can’t see anything on the upper shelves anyway. 2. An obvious design error requires the addition of a plug-in heat shield to protect the plastic controls when using the grill - the thing sticks out several inches past the surrounding units and is a hazard. 3. The grill and hob controls all work the same way - 90 degree turn anti-clockwise to turn on the gas, ignition and max heat. Continue turn anti-clockwise with clicks that indicate changing position to get to the lowest temperature setting. But, the oven starts at the lowest temperature and turns anti-clockwise to the highest without any clicks, the numbers for gas mark settings are small and underneath the knob, so I have to bend low to be able to tell what setting I’m using - not appreciated by someone with osteo-arthritis.

    Easy to use

    5/5
We’ve had the cooker for a month now and we find it is extremely easy to use, and even easier to keep clean. We’re very happy with the purchase and recommend it wholeheartedly.

    Not Indesit’s best cooker

    4/5
It’s an okay cooker for the price. It’s not very practical for elderly folk as the numbers are printed underneath the knobs. You have to bend down to look and as I have varifocals I have to push my glasses right up so I can see through the reading part. Also the numbers are so close together that there’s no difference between gas mark 3, 4 or 5. Basically you have 3 temperature settings low medium and high. On the plus side the oven space is bigger than my previous one.
