We bought this 6 months ago when doing our kitchen refurb. Decided to go for this particular module after reading positive reviews, reassured by the AEG reputation. Our experience so far has not been great. The hob's performance has been quite unstable. the low heat settings can sometimes be very strong. The biggest problem is that the hob is often unresponsive. At random times a different zone might turn on by itself. We recently had the controls for the 4 zones getting mixed up and whilst pressing for the front zone to the back zone would turn on instead! Another annoying thing is that if there is even the slightest off water spilled from a boiling pot the hob will turn off. I'm not sure if we were just unlucky and got a faulty product but I'd be cautious about this specific model

This was a replacement for a similar AEG hob which had served me well for 15 years but had recently stopped working properly. The new hob fitted well in the space vacated by the old one and looks similar. The layout has changed slightly with the smallest 'ring' now located at the front right rather than the back left, which is in an improvement in my opinion as I no longer need to reach over a large pot to reach the smaller one. My only gripe is that the colour of the symbols on the new hob seems to be grey rather than white, as in the older version, which means I need my glasses to see what I am doing. I am looking forward to another 15 years of good service.

so, my first foray into induction hobs. A lot of homework, some worrying about apparent noise from the hob itself, noise from the pans because of the induction process. I can happily report that this induction hob for me is silent. The noise if you want to call it that is the slides of hum, honestly you can't hear it. The pans we use make normal hot pan noises, nothing else. The touch controls are great. Lots of incremental levels to get it just how you like it. With the extra power boost if you need it. With the beveled edges it looks so much better if you are sitting the unit on the worktop and just cutting out for the main unit. I really wish I had bought one years ago.

Great product but not as fast as our older ‘lesser’ hob.

Chose AEG due to reviews posted. Nice looking and quality finish. Heats pans up very fast and performs well. I swapped from a gas hob and this model is great.

My order was processed quickly and efficiently. I received a confirmatory email within a few minutes, and with it came an estimation of the date and time of delivery. So far, impressive. The day before delivery was due, I had a reminder email with the same time mentioned; in the early morning a message estimating a four-hour window, and 25 minutes before the opening of the window.... a phone call giving us 25 minutes to prepare! At the appointed hour, I went out to the gate to see the white van arriving. Very impressive. The lad was both polite and efficient, and gave me big smile on departure. This is what we like!

Very pleased but given a 4 as there was no cable with it to connect to the power supply. Other than that, the bevelled edge is a nice touch as is the multi size back heating zone.

I was replacing an old gas hob and made the inevitably wise choice of having an induction hob, first the ease of use is fantastic, any level pan that covers each zone will work so my collection of cast iron Lodge pans are still usable. Second the PowerBoost is so useful and it heats up faster than a kettle or microwave and finally it's so easy to keep clean with a soft cloth and some cleaning spray as soon as it is fully cool. Oh and it will tell you if it doesn't like certain things being put on it !
