We bought this kettle four years ago, on the presumption that more expensive would mean it would last longer than all our previous kettles had. And it's a very nice looking item. It's exactly four years old, and the lid mechanism has broken. As my husband was a domestic appliance repair engineer before retiring, and still repairs most of our appliances, we bought the spare part. That proved impossible to fit, and the nearest repair shop is about 30 miles away, so we're not doing that. I'm disappointed with this kettle, I expected it to have a longer life, and it would be good to have the option of a repair without a travelling miles.

Good looking product but base is plastic

Love it plus the temperature control. You don’t have to boil the kettle every time if you don’t need a full boil
