Well, this was an excellent find! I had a kenwood chef for many years until the motor gave out. Never thought I’d have anything comparable again but this wee beauty is fabulous! Great big bowl with a handle, three different mixing blades, splash cover, a mixing action that not only circles from the top of the blade, but also circles from above that, like a circle within a circle, catching everything in the bowl. No blind spots! And gone are the days when making a cake would spray flour all over the place! And the cover has an opening with a lid to add ingredients a bit at a time. Realise I’m gushing here but I’m genuinely delighted! If you need a bigger mixer with the option of adding other attachments, I’d highly recommend this one! Can I give more than 5 stars please?

Replaces a 50 year old Kenwood Mixer wedding present ...quality looks just as good

The mixer makes brilliant cakes and easy to use. It’s very quiet and I love the colour and how it looks in the kitchen. The only issue is the bowl gets locked in place and then is difficult to take off. It’s like the locking grey part of the bowl moves and doesn’t line up with the stand. Now I know what to do it’s fine but at the start it was very difficult as the bowl is very heavy and doesn’t line up with the markings of lock and unlock.

Arrived quickly, only used once and motor seems to get hot

Its a very good mixer - just what I would expect from a Kenwood. However its important to note the bowl - being glass - is very much heavier than a traditional plastic bowl. The handle and pour lip is useful. Speed adjust is easy and fitting the splash cover is also easy - it slides upwards over the "neck" of the mixer and can be left in place all the time. Place the opening of the splash cover so its over the pour lip of the bowl. It comes with the fold speed setting but not the fold paddle - however it folds using the K attachment. Very well made and sturdy whilst mixing however it is very heavy to move with the bowl fitted. The lift up mechanism has a knack to it. You do have to scrape down the sides but I like to do this anyway to check mix. The size of the bowl means it will handle everything I do as a home baker without concern for over=loading the mixer. I look forward to getting 40 years out of this one like I did my last Kenwood Chef.
