Good washer dryer, the AEG app could use some development though.

Really pleased with our purchase, would recommend

We recently purchased the machine to replace our separate washer and dryer, the washer we'd had for about 8 years and was still going well, the dryer only 18 months and already in need of repair. Our utility room recently sprung a leak so we were in need of decorating, we thought there was no better time than now to replace our two machines for this single washer dryer. The installation instructions were straight forward enough, connecting the cold water and drainage were easy. However removing the bolts that keep the machine safe for transit were a bit of a nightmare. The two outer bolts were a little work, but the centre bolt took a lot of strength to remove - and I wouldn't consider myself a weak guy (picture attached). First impressions from the actual machine were good, looked nice, plenty cycle options, and fits nicely in the corner in our utility. The mobile phone app was easy enough to install, although connection to the machine took a few attempts and a 'factory reset' of the WiFi on the machine before it was fuly up and running - plus integrated into Home Assistant (via HACS). The first few cycles, with the first being completely empty, smelt quite a bit of burning plastic, but that only lasted about 3 or 4 cycles. The machine is now being used daily, and is doing exactly what we had hoped. Its cycles are fairly short, the clothes come out smelling fresh, we're being notified on the app when it's complete and we've been able to get our heads around the various cycle options. The only negative we could think of relating to it's continued use is that the drying capacity could be a little larger, but that's no fault of the machine or the advertised spec, this is just thoughts on longer term improvements. Overall we're really happy, we would like to have given the machine 4.5 but it was a choice between 4 and 5 on the review selection. The negatives being related to the tricky installation.

We purchased this AEG washer dryer because drying clothes inside has become unsustainable. After using it for a month, I can say we won’t be going back to an ordinary washing machine. This washer dryer has been a game changer. If you have a lot of washing to do (we have a toddler and family often stays over) this will make it so convenient and easy. Not only the washing programmes are versatile and adjustable but the dryer has lot of different settings too (included in the washing cycle, on its own, the strength of drying, time, etc..). The clothes come out very clean and fresh. With a toddler in the house washing dirty piles of clothes is breeze now. Especially washing/drying bed linen is so much easier, and it comes out dry when it’s finished. This is so convenient (compared to long waiting for it to dry inside the house). The dryer is amazing, definitely on the pair with stand alone dryers with efficiency of drying. I can only highly recommend this washer/dryer to anyone who is looking to upgrade their washing experience to next level.

    It’s great !

The touch sensitive buttons took some getting used to and the app is ridiculous. All these niggles fade away when it does the job of washing and drying clothes, which it does magnificently. It’s a very slick machine.

    Fantastic piece of equipment

I have purchased 8000 Powercare Universaldose 10kg Washer Dryer (LWR8516O5UD) as my first ever washer dryer. I did own dryer in the past and missed it with never-ending laundry with 2 toddlers. I read a lot of reviews of different washer-dryers and was very apprehensive. Some of the models available on the market let down their owners terribly. I decided to go for the biggest load capacity available and am really impressed with this machine. It looks modern and very stylish in the kitchen and is very quiet for a washing machine. I like using shortest programmes a lot for less dirty clothes and am impressed how clean everything comes out. This model is A energy rated and with its large drum is an energy-friendly solution. What I absolutely love about this model and what is a complete game changer is possibility to add clothes up to certain point during first wash. That’s the option I really missed in my old washing machine. There’s always something you remember about after the machine clicks and locks- now it does not lock immediately and you can still safely open the door. When it is no longer safe and there is a lot of water, the machine locks safely. The ProSteam option is a great solution for me. Very often my own clothes are not dirty almost at all, but need refreshing. That’s when Steam programme comes very handy saving the fabircs from ongoing damage and colour fade. The drying works really well. You can either choose wash+dry or drying as separate option. The automaticity of the drying time depending on the load size saves a lot of hassle with checking the progress manually. All the washing does not have to be dried on the airer, which caused humidity and mess.

    Game Changer!

    5/5
Having inherited a washing machine when me and my wife moved into our first home in May, we really needed an upgrade. And boy did we get one! Firstly, it is a very stylish washing machine and the design clearly shows that it is a high-end model. We are planning to have a new kitchen in the next few years and this will definitely be staying! There are many different programs which are very easy to understand and use. It is clear which program is best suited for the type of wash required and it has performed brilliantly for my muddy football kits. The huge washing capacity of 10kg has allowed us to reduce the number of wash loads that we need to do per week and being ‘A’ energy rated, it has also had a positive impact on our energy bill which will definitely add up over the future use. It is great knowing how long until the cycle is complete and this will come in especially useful in the summer when clothes will still be put outside (to save money) as we can make other plans accordingly without being suddenly interrupted by the washing machine finishing! Finally a drawer with clear instructions of what goes where! No more guessing where the fabric softener or detergent is meant to go :) The dryer function has been a game changer for us as we were always waiting for clothes to dry indoors which was causing issues with the humidity in the home as well as taking forever to fully dry in the winter. We are now all done in a fraction of time and our clothes smell so much better.

    Makes laundry fun

    5/5
I had been in the market for a new machine for some time, as our old washing machine was slow and a bit stinky despite me constantly cleaning it, and I was fed up with hanging clothes to dry around the house. It seemed like the washing and drying would never end. After checking out lots of different reviews, I opted for the AEG 8000 Powercare Universal Dose 10KG washer dryer. I LOVE IT. Since it arrived, I have actually enjoyed doing the laundry for our family of 2 adults and 2 (very messy, and one potty training) young children (also throw in 2 muddy cats). First impressions of the machine is that is looks great - very stylish and modern, with a lovely big display. It's very easy to use - there's the most common settings and features are available to select using the display, but the app that connects to the machine is full of extra programs. Of these, our most commonly used one is bedding (very handy and does not take long). The drum is absolutely huge, and I've found I can easily fit what I need to inside. It can easily take 2 bath sheets and a load of hand towels and tea towels. When it's loaded up that much, it's still incredibly quiet too. It's not silent, but it's about ten times quieter than my old machine. The only thing to note is that (as with all washer dryers), the drying won't be as effective if the drum is well-loaded. The actual cleaning of clothes is fantastic - we've had some very heavily soiled (with mud!) clothes sent back from nursery, and every night I put them on a 'powerclean' wash (my favourite program) and they come out spotless. One of the programs offers a quick wash and dry, with the whole thing over in an hour. This (alongside the 'steam' setting) has been perfect when we've needed clothes in a hurry, or to just freshen them up. I'm so pleased I opted for the 8000 Powercare 10KG, it really has made a lot of difference to my weekends and limited time in the evenings, now I'm not hanging up endless washing to dry. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone else, and I will be buying more AEG appliances in the future.
