This is an amendment of my previous review of this model soon after I bought it. I compared it unfavourably then with my previous Panasonic combination microwave but gave it 4 stars. With more experience, my opinion of it has gone down substantially. The convection function is inadequate since the oven is much hotter at the top than lower down which makes it unsuitable for most kinds of baking and the grill is not nearly hot enough, eg a gratinee dish put under it was not browned on top in 12 minutes. I would love to have my old one back and working. It was perfect for baking in small batches and, unlike its replacement, I could get 2 "shelves" of rolls, tarts or scones in it at once. I dare not attempt a cake in this thing. It is not worth the risk of wasting the ingredients.

A little slow to warm up food , cheap plastic stands , will slide back when you push door open button, overall not impressed at all , will not buy again

We bought this for my parents as we already have one and can’t live without it. Microwave is powerful and the oven function whilst small (ie you wouldn’t cook a Sunday roast in it) is great if you want to cook one thing and feel that turning the ‘big oven’ on for us a waste. It’s also really useful that it’s on a timer so you can set it off cooking whilst doing something else without worrying. I haven’t used it yet but the instructions also say you can microwave and grill at the same time which would be really useful for reheating things like pie or lasagne.

I am so pleased with my new oven. I have used this Panasonic oven type for many years but I am extra pleased with this one as it is very compact, leaving more worktop space than the previous ones and the control panel is very easy to use, whereas previous models had buttons protruding and was not so easy to clean, this one has no buttons and is extremely easy to clean with one wipe. This was one of the more expensive domestic microwave units but it had the additional features like the convection and grill that you don’t get in the cheaper ones. It’s also one of the more powerful units at 1,000W which was something I wanted too. The controls are simple enough (once you read the manual) as they aren’t necessarily that intuitive, but then you should always read the manual! In fairness the microwave tells you to read the manual when you turn it on.....and you NEED to because you actually have to run the grill for 5 minutes to burn off the residue on the elements before you use it for cooking! Overall quite impressed and good value for money but will probably have more features than most people will actually need.

Was I disappointed with my purchase - NO WAY. I purchased this Panasonic Combi Microwave to replace my existing Panasonic Combi one, which after some twenty plus years of faithful use decided to stop working. My wife & I looked at other makes and models, but we decided to purchase the latest model to the one we had received such good service from. It is slightly slimmer than the previous model and the front controls have been upgraded. It looks great in our kitchen and although we have only used it half a dozen times so far it works just fine and we hope it lasts a long as our previous one did. A great product that I would recommend to everyone .
