Very good battery life, especially if used for “spot hoovering” . No drilling into walls to mount the charger unit because it sits on the floor. So far used it on kitchen tiled floor, stairs carpet and to clean the car interior; great for all three tasks. Bought a cheap competitor previously and regretted it, this model (though expensive) is excellent. Which recommended ‘Best Buy’

As a diehard Dyson owner I was initially wary about making the switch but, let down by the battery life on my most recent Dyson, I decided to listen to the advice of friends and made the plunge. With so many Shark models available I checked out reviews and was led to the PowerDetect Clean & Empty model. The product has great suction and switches effortlessly between carpeted and hard floors, adjusting suction where more dust is detected. The attachments supplied are easy to remove and replace, as required and can be stored on the dock and extension. In handheld mode, mattresses and sofas can be easily refreshed and the crevice tool makes light work of cobwebs. I did find it a little heavy while tackling high up jobs but on the ground it’s a dream to manoeuvre. The charging and emptying dock makes the product larger than a standard cordless but I can’t express enough the satisfaction I feel when watching it empty in front of my eyes, like magic. This function can be disabled until you’re ready to empty the cylinder and emptying the dustbin itself is a doddle. All in all, I’m over the moon with the Shark, and would even go so far as to say I enjoy hoovering.

We purchased this as we have a wooden floors and a golden retriever, the perfect combination for hairy dust devils, lurking in the corners and under furniture…additionally said retriever is ‘very helpful” when it comes to hoovering and loves to help by dragging the power cable around! Having a cordless vacuum that has a significant run time, without a reduction in power, that is flexible enough to capture those pesky dust devils and stores away neatly….and empties itself?? is awesome.

Does a decent job cleaning and satisfying to see how much dirt you collect. Battery doesn’t last long though. It may be 70 minutes on eco, but who ever uses that setting?
