Best Kitchen Gadget Ever!
5/5
I'd been chewing over whether to get one for years, when they first came out I bought a well known brand and it was horrendous, caught alight and had to be thrown out the door or the house would have burnt down that was swiftly returned to where I bought it, pre AO days. That experience put me off. But a friend bought a Ninja and I was so impressed I bought one.
I bought the AF100UK, its a fab little air fryer but I wished I'd bought the dual zone model. After a couple of weeks it became evident that even tho I live alone, it wasn't big enough for me as I do love to cook but I had to cook one part of my meal and then wait to cook the second part of my meal, so I sold it to my neighbour and bought the Dual Zone model AF300UK.
The AF300UK is fabulous! I can sling a steak in drawer one, mixed mediterranean veg and seasoning in drawer two, press 'sync' and it cooks both sides perfectly, the veg start being delayed so both drawers are finished at the same time.
Today I tried out the dehydrator mode. I have a glut of tomatoes and thought I'd dry some to have over winter in meals. Dead easy to use. cut 1 poind of cherry tomatoes in half, add 1 teaspoon of olive oil, freshly ground black pepper and sea salt, and lay them on the rack inside each drawer, half a pound fits the drawer perfectly without overlapping. Then press dehydrate it automatically comes up at 60C and 6hours and press 'match' and off it goes, 6 hours later perfect dried tomatoes and if you want them a bit drier just set it for another hour or two although 8hrs is the max I think. Otherwise they'd be too hard and crisp. Then remove them, wait to cool, place in large 500ml kilner jars, cover with olive oil (and herbs if liked), place the lid on to keep them airtight, and store in a dark cupboard. They should keep for months. Just make sure you sterilise the ars well before use.
I'm over the moon with the AF300UK air fryer. It roasts, bakes (cup cakes were amazing), air fries, reheats, and dehydrates everything to perfection, and my neighbour loves the AF100UK I sold her, she's cooked roast chicken in hers, cup cakes, chips and all sorts. So we're both happy bunnies!
If you're dithering about getting one, get this one! I can't recommend it highly enough. You'll wonder how you ever managed without it.
I rate both the AF100UK and the AF300UK 5 stars each as they're equally brilliant machines!
