    Little speaker, but big XBOOM!

I got this as a promotional offer with a TV I purchased, however I'd happily pay the current £30 asking price as the sound quality for such a small device is fantastic.

    Small but do the job

    4/5
LG GO PL2 for such a small speaker have a good quality sound and loudness. It’s light so you can take it everywhere with you. Connection is simple and fast. If you fancy listening music from more than one source at the time, you can make a multiple connection to other LG speakers. It’s also waterproof so it’s good choice for your next holiday gadget. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a small speaker to use it outside home and inside.

    Small and handy

It's a good speaker with a good sound quality for its price, yet might not reach one's expectations. It worked perfectly as a bedroom/kitchen radio, to listen to radio stations and some music, yet I didn't like it with a movies. When I paired it with my phone alongside another speaker, there was a sound delay. Due to its shape it easily flips and rolls away, so you need to be careful what surface you place it on. It didn't come with a charging cable but you can charge it with USB-C. Battery lasts for circa 6 hrs.

    Well made. More bass please

Lovely smooth material and feels well made. Good sound for indoor use, especially with Sound Boost on. Lacking bass for outdoor use

    Powerful little device

    4/5
First visual impressions of this little speaker it’s pretty good, very solidly made with a decent weight to it. USB C charging is a very welcome feature as I’ve lost so many devices to broken micro USB charging ports. In terms of setup, f you have ever paired a Bluetooth device in the past you will be up and running in seconds. I’ve got an iOS device so could not use the XBOOM App. However, to ensure I had the latest updates on the device, I had downloaded it on my Android device to update the hardware. When I first paired the speaker it was a pleasant enough sound, the bass was better than you would expect from such a small box and mids/highs are very clear however once I hit 75% of max volume the sound became distorted, more so when the sound boost was engaged. The software update fixed this issue. I can now go to full volume without too much distress on the sound quality. Battery life is sucked out when on high volume will sound boost on using 50% in two and a half hours. Anything under 30% max volume was inaudible from my iPhone 8 Plus and 40% of max volume is very low unless you are sitting right next to it in silence. As it is water resistant, I’ve set it up as my morning radio for listening to and the fact that it’s got battery saving it just turns itself off and prolongs the battery life. As for sound quality, sadly size does matter. For what it is you cannot fault it but I can’t help feeling the bigger speakers in the range will give so much more “oomph” and weight to the music. If I was to describe the sound style I would have to say it is mid-range heavy then treble coming in behind and bass is a bit of an afterthought, although this little box is trying its hardest to make some! Without sound boost you have nothing more than a louder but clearer version of your phone speaker. The positive take of all this is you will be unlikely to upset anyone else in the park/beach/neighbours but still hear your media clearly where you are. In conclusion this is a nice little speaker, accept its sound limitations for the fantastic portability and enjoy it for what it is. I would be interested to see what two of them paired together would sound like (an option on this device) but suspect buying the larger versions in the range would give a better, one box solution if a bigger sound stage was your goal.
