Christmas dinner for 14 was a breeze
5/5
I'd been looking for ages for a cooker to replace my old Belling range which had one wide and one narrow oven, but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. The Belling eventually died so forced me into making a decision as I needed a cooker before Christmas. I chose the Rangemaster Professional as it had the closest configuration. I did want the Deluxe with the multi-function oven, but this was out of stock, so I took the Pro + instead. I must say, I am so pleased with it.
Pro's - both ovens heat up very quickly, very well insulated, the front doesn't get hot even with both ovens on, you can hardly hear the fans when the doors are closed. My extra large roasting tin for a 10kg turkey fitted nicely in the wide oven (oven space for this tin was a pre-requisite). Multiple shelves in the narrow oven are a godsend. Christmas dinner for 14 cooked without having to juggle oven space by pre-cooking some dishes to be reheated, so saved energy. All of the roast veg, stuffing, yorkies, etc., went in at once. The hob is really easy to clean and spills/boil overs don't spread over the whole hob. Cooking times for roasts, pastry, etc., seem to be spot on, but I haven't made any cakes yet.
Con's - could do with an interior light in the narrow oven. I'm struggling a little with hob configuration. My old cooker was 2 burners left, wok burner middle, two burners right. As I'm right handed I prefer to cook anything that needs attention on the right burners, which on this cooker are the middle ones, but I'll get used to it eventually. The hob pan supports aren't flat on top, so if you lift a full roasting tin or tray out onto the hob, extra care is needed so that the tin doesn't topple or spill.
All in all it's a super cooker that I am generally very pleased with. Combined with the great service and installation from AO, I'm very happy with my purchase.
