No gas marks

1/5
Just had my rangemaster professional installed. I can't understand why my gas knobs do not have gas marks?? Totally gutted. Was this a mistake by the manufacturer.

Good Looking Cooker, but has flaws, hopfully will get used to it soon.

4/5
Bought this to replace a 23 year old range cooker that finally gave up. It's a nice looking cooker, and sits well in our kitchen, Only had it a week so can't say how it will be in years to come. We are too used to our old range cooker, so any differences are going to seem like faults to us until we get used to using it. I have not had a lot of oppertunity to used it yet, but so far so good, However, I have listed what I see as "faults" below, but there is nothing disasterously wrong and I hope it stays that way and we get at least another 23 years out of this one. Burners are very controlable, but find ignition a bit clumpsy, having to hold in the dial and press the ignite button, then continue to hold the dial in for a few seconds until it stays lit, then adjust to the setting I want will take a bit of getting used to. Despite having large control dials, It's hard to see the markings on them, There is no definitive mark on the cooker in relation to the dials to say what level the burners, ovens or grill are at, just assumed what ever mark was at the top is what level they are at, which is probably right. But whether it's because the cooker is Black with Chrome or not, I cannot see any of the markings on the dials due to reflections and this is from anywhere in the kitchen, not just in front of the cooker, I feel that perhaps coloured, or luminous markings would maybe have worked better. The lights on both ovens are interconnected, so they both come on together even if you are only using one oven, seems a tad wasteful. The "handle" on the Grill pan slide, is far too close to the actual grill and there is no actual handle on, or for, the grill pan, and it sits "in" the slide, so It cannot be removed easily when hot, so far we have not used the grill, but I think there may be some burnt fingers coming up. I used the ovens the other day and about an hour after I finished cooking, I noticed that the range was still hot, I then realised that the Oven was still on, but was unable to tell just by looking at the control dial as they are symetrical and when the oven is on at Gas mark 3, the dial is identical to the off position, and as stated earlier, the markings are difficult to see. The Pan rests, feel cheap, and the griddle plate supplied, does not feel as if it's sitting on properly, I checked the booklet and it is apparently suppose to sit over the pan rest second from the left, which has 2 burners under it, seems strange, I would think either end of the cooker would be better, or that it fitted on any of the pan rests, but time will tell.

Almost the same high quality as produced 25years ago.

4/5
This rangemaster is replacing an almost identical one which was 25 years old, I am pleasantly surprised to find that 90% of the cooker appears to be to the same high quality and design. I would give it 41/2 stars, it looses marks due to the poor fitting oven shelf/racks in 2nd oven. The griddle is straight forward to position and works well.

Well built bit of kit

4/5
I've been using the Rangemater for a week now & used all of the features, including both ovens grill & all burners & gridle. Its very robust & well built. Lots of space & options. Great for a family that loves to cook. Surprisingly I've used the griddle a lot. It cooks great bacon & tomatoes! I like the oven with the shelf attached to the door which makes it really easy to check food without having to remove it. We have the chrome version with black & chrome controls & I find it hard to see the settings which are in black - the symbols could do with being a different colour to show up against the background eg red flame for high? Maybe I will get used to this in time. Its a small, but important detail. The Rangemaster is sturdy, efficient, capacious, safe, with some small characteristics that could be improved - much like the family that use it!
