Excellent cooker, shame about a couple of build problems

    4/5
Only had this cooker a few days, but really enjoying it. Very quiet, good heat control, feels strong and sturdy. The only disappointments are that the pan support over the wok burner is warped and not really safe to use as a pan could topple, and the griddle is a little warped. AO were great to confirm this and got in touch with Rangemaster immediately. Rangemaster have said 20 days to replace though!! Too long. They were meant to get back to me with an improved time, but haven't hear back.

Cleaning the cooker was a nightmare, the tape which held the rings on has still not gone yet its residue has marked the cooker. bulb blew after the first use of oven.

Best range cooker we've ever had

    5/5
We have had this Rangemaster gas cooker since 2nd November 2016 but I have delayed this review to give it a proper workout. In all honesty this is a fantastic cooker,it looks beautiful but just as important it cook wonderful too. The controls are precise, the electric small oven is slightly noisy due to the fan but we've never had a fan oven before so this is most probably normal. Cleaning is a doddle, really does just wipe clean and any spills on the hob just wipe away with a damp cloth. My wife bakes a lot of cakes so the temperature of the ovens has to be quite accurate and both of these ovens seem to be just that,no more soggy bottoms! This is without doubt the best cooker we've ever had and worth every penny,it's not cheap but you get what you pay for and it's made in Britain!

    Quality product

    5/5
The cooker was well packaged and arrived by courteous and helpful drivers from ao. It was easily installed by my gas engineer in about 45 minutes, including testing time. Rangemaster leave instructions in the grill as well as a leaflet that I missed and proceeded to melt to the base of my grill base when using the gas oven, so ensure you check right to the very back of it. The burners are a standard size and easily allow for large pots on all of them. I've used my wok burner loads and it's ability to quickly heat and cook is exceptional (keep a close eye though as I lost my favourite pot to stew burning) we found it got very streaky when cleaning it and tried lots of products before discovering Flash with Fairy liquid- works a treat! The electric oven heats really quick and is of a very even temperature throughout the different heights, however the front 10-15% is slightly colder than the rest. Just be careful on opening, the fan is pretty powerful and the steam build up inside can give you a fair blast in the face and neck. There is plenty of options for configuring your shelves and I've cooked on all at the same time with only minimal additional cooking time. The gas oven is fairly accurate in temperature (slightly burns toward the front) and capacity is good. I have an issue with the door rack and being able to add or remove shelves, you need to take the door rack off to do so! For someone as busy but forgettable as me this is a pain to move hot racks to change position. However I'm happy with the gas section too. The grill surface area is pretty small actually and requires rotation of items. If you're trying to toast 4 slices of bread be prepared to keep checking it. I love the runners on the grill, they feel good quality, the grill is really easy to clean too. If you've not had a chance to see one in person it worth bearing in mind that it's slightly yellower than appears in the picture. Overall- quality and you get what you pay for. Would I buy the same again- yes!

    Problems, problems

    3/5
Lots of problems with this cooker . Initially found a flaw in the enamel top, incorrect knobs fitted, grill compartment door warped. Replacement knob for gas oven was for an electric one. Then three months after purchase the gas oven has broken down and we have endless problems with Rangemaster trying to get it replaced. Theiir Customer Service Department is totally incompetent - they don't call back when they say they will, haven't registered what the actual problem is, don't deliver when they say they will, so over Easter when I have visitors I'm without my main oven. The response to everything we suggest is "no", basically they' ve just shrugged their shoulders and ignored us.

    New cooker at last

    5/5
Looks really good in place. Very impressed with the build quality and love having the gas grill and oven. Especially like the fact that no heat escapes out of the front of the grill (open door grilling) so the cooker knobs don't burn your hands like the old one did! The electric fan oven is great, arriving with all shelves necessary. All in all, very happy

    toaster very patchy

    3/5
Recently bought one of these and although it looks great its one major drawback is the toaster, it cant toast at all well you have to continually turn/spin the bread otherwise it turns out extremely patchy have tried to contact range but all to no avail this spoils what otherwise is a good cooker, sadly my first range and definately my last.Had to buy a seperate electric toaster which is not what you expact for the price.

    a good piece of kit

    4/5
Firstly the cooker was easy to install despite its weight. Controls are chunky and robust with no flimsy bits to fall off. Cooking results seem good with oven temperatures well controlled - the hob burners have progressive turndown. Cleaning is generally easy but the cast iron pan supports have quite a rough surface which can pick up lint from cleaning cloths.
