Worst. Oven. Ever. Do NOT buy

    1/5
I’m with Gemma’s review below. This oven is rubbish, don’t buy it. It is over engineered and under delivers. The functions are a waste of time, the instructions are useless and the grill in particular is not reliable. The only grilling it’s done is burn a piece of toast when I was testing how long it would take to toast. It’s a cold oven and despite all the marketing fluff, does not cook evenly. When you turn it on, it beeps at you demanding you press another button to turn on. Heaven forbid you leave the room to do something else because then it switches off and you have to start again. Because it’s over the 30 days, AO send you to Hotpoint and it’s really been a poor experience with them. I won’t be buying a Hotpoint oven again, and no doubt will have to replace the oven at my own cost because it is so useless. I never thought I’d want my previous oven back but at least I could cook home made pizza in 6 mins instead of 25!

    Don’t waste your money

Just awful. Operating buttons are not back lit so you need a torch/ phone light to see what you’re pressing. Have to press an “ok” button for every command- which you can’t see as it’s not backlit. Temp button and timer button not back lit. Seems small issue but a complete pain. Cooker itself is less than useless- uneven cooking even with fan in operation. Then the cooker beeps at you continuously until you press OK again- often for unfathomable reasons- or it keeps beeping! Needed a matching over/ hob etc quickly - this was all that was available post covid - across multiple stores- had it less than a year and am pulling the lot out and replacing. It’s the most laborious oven I have ever bought - not really fit for purpose.

    Really poor reliability and durability

    1/5
It's certainly a nice oven - but in my experience, not reliable / durable. The main heating element on ours stopped working after 15 months. It's going to be over £120 for an engineer to come and look at it and fix it, which is poor for a product we purchased so recently.

    Worst appliance I've ever owned

    1/5
Worst appliance I've ever owned! I've had this oven for 3 years now and it has had 4 significant breakdowns over the last 18 months. It seemed to work well over the first year but has needed many components replacing as they've failed despite only being used for normal domestic purposes. In the last breakdown it caused the fuse board to trip when the bottom element disintegrated and fell into the oven frame, creating a short. I can understand why it has so many positive reviews - for the initial months we were very happy with it too but the number of faults it has suffered is totally unacceptable. We are now in a position of having to pay to replace an oven which is just 3 years old. I regret purchasing this item.

    Built to a price…

    1/5
After just under 12 months we have replaced this oven with a Miele thanks to AO excellent customer service. First the grille rack broke which was replaced by Hotpoint then after the second time of using the pyrolitic function for cleaning the grille would not heat up, after 4 visits by the engineers they could not fix it so refunded AO so we could choose a new oven.

Broke within two years, Hotpoint engineer couldn't repair it.

    Tripping fused spur

    1/5
Had my old oven 3 yrs and worked fine with our 13amp fused spur switch but this Hotpoint oven is overloading the 13amp and tripping the switch. I don't know why when our other worked fine.

    Great Oven until it breaks...

    1/5
Bought in 2019 and the Conventional Oven Element that is never used as we use the fan assist element has broke. Hotpoint engineer has come out but as the part has broke apart half way along, there is no way to get into the recess to remove the rest of the old one to fit new element in now so the whole machine is now un fixable and has been decommissioned. Just hope the French Reparability laws make some of these companies rethink their designs going forward, simple element swap out now means £300 wasted on a higher quality brand, think ill just stick with cheap £100-£150 oven from now on. Great delivery etc from AO mind so no fault there
