First of all, the service from AO was exemplary, delivery prompt and polite, easy to fit, no problems there. And it works fine. So, why only 3 stars? First of all, the alarm to indicate it's finished is far too quiet in a noisy kitchen. It's easy for things to get overcooked as a result, and this seems an entirely unnecessary flaw. Secondly, it's fiddly to operate. You can't just turn it to a temperature and bang, it's on, you have to go through 3 or 4 levels of choosing and confirming. Thirdly, only one rack provided. Feels a little stingy. Finally, there seems to be no way to use the timer without the oven on - I've always used the oven timer even when cooking on the hob only, and again it seems silly not to include this functionality in what is not an especially cheap oven. Not, I guess, that I'd hear it anyway.

Oven has been installed for 13 months and used most days. A couple of weeks ago, while setting the temperature, the entire control panel became detached from the frame and pushed into the cabinet. It is possible to pull it back into position but doesn't stay there. I can't believe they would build this and only secure the main panel with a weak glue. Contacted Hotpoint but it's past 12 months since purchase so they want over £130 to look at it (almost half the price I paid for it). Will spend a little more next time and go with a manufacturer who's product is made to last more than 13 months.

Bought this oven because my old one was 14 years old and I assumed it used a lot of electricity. This Hotpoint oven takes ages to pre heat!! The instructions are not easy to follow - I had to phone customer services just to set the clock. Seems a lot of un-neccesary programmes and options. It does not tell you for instance that the oven door has to be closed for grilling. Speaking of which, it took over 20 minutes to grill 6 sausages!!! It is a nice looking oven, but because of all the 'faff' I have only used it a few times so can't say much about cooking results. One other item I would like to mention is that it appears that it is one cooking method short - I do not have the 'turbo grill' option (picture of grill with fan below) I am disappointed with this oven, and I am sorry, but I can not recommend it.

Nice looking oven and probably works very well if only the instructions were more comprehensive. Haven't been able to work out all the functions and took us ages to realise the oven door needed to be closed for the grill to work. Also, no timer function is a serious omission. The display starts to count up once food is placed in the pre-heated oven but then you lose the oven temperature and clock display. Only one wire rack shelf but some strange rotisserie gadget is included which we will never use.

Great Oven, shame it doesn't fit in a standard size tall oven housing, do not buy this if you are buying it as a replacement

I had one of these Hotpoint ovens before in my previous home , which I was extremely pleased with . This second identical oven does not appear to be as hot . Maybe just my imagination as can’t really see that it could be any different . I was disappointed as when the oven arrived it had human hairs in it which was rather off putting and extremely disappointing . I have emailed the company about this but sadly no response back to date.

Great cooker, but the grill only works when the door is shut!

A nice oven spoiled by problems using the grill. At least this model comes with a grill pan, whereas the last Hotpoint I used didn't. (not sure how you are supposed to grill food without?) The problems is, the grill pan is such a loose fit in the slots at the side of the oven and has no stops, so when you draw it out to check the food, it just slides/drops out onto the oven door, or your feet! There is also no handle(s) supplied for holding the grill pan. Quite dangerous in my opinion. It's a pity because the oven is otherwise of good quality (although a bit 'technical' to use) and has some really good features.
